I recently launched a Volkswagen portal site for VW news and links. www .volkswagan.ca (yes wrong spelling, but obviously the proper spelling was gone long ago). Before anyone jumps on me, yes I use Google Ads to cover the cost of hosting, but this is not a cheap ploy to get clicks. I am interested in comments and suggestions or just look around....

Back in 2003 the original Delco alternator failed on my 93 Geo Prizm. I replaced it with a remanufactured Delco from Advance that came with a lifetime warranty. The part failed about a year later, I got a replacement, and the replacement is now starting to fail. I've read good things about the Nippondenso alternators that come with Corollas. I'm tempted...

I saw another Armada SUV today. It seems grossly over styled, almost like at each step in the design review each person wanted to out do the last one by adding some superfluous bump, hump, hunk of chrome, pack of black plastic, etc till the whole thing looks ridiculous, at least to me. The Cadillac Escalade suffers a bit from the same affliction yet I...

My wife's 2000 Chrysler Cirrus oil light came on recently. It came on when she stopped the car in the driveway. Later, I drove it and it came on a few times when I would come to a stop sign or a traffic light. As soon as the RPM's were raised, it went off. Afterwards, it didn't come on again. I checked the oil and it is in the full range. I'm...

Samson Blinded: A Machiavellian Perspective in the Middle East Conflict also scored high in all categories it was nominated. Google earlier banned advertising of that blog for unacceptable content. I'm looking at a certified Honda, low mileage, great condition. The only problem is that there are some small spots on the hood where it looks like the paing has been chipped. I showed it to a body shop guy I trust and he said it's called checking and in a few places it's actually gone through the paint. His opinion is that it could cause a problem down...

Since there aren't so many of these around, especially high resolution ones, I thought I'd ask the wisdom of the group here. I did find mudpluggers, com and got some from there. After larger pics and all sorts of cars if possible. Muddy, mucky, road salted etc. Interesting angles, lighting or situations a bonus. Thanks for any assistance. I can be...

I'm at work, and when I unlocked the door, the alarm went off. I don't have a keychain for it (I got it used, didn't even know it had an alarm). I'm assuming there's a chip in the key, but for some reason it isn't being recognized (tried both regular key and valet key). If not, a regular motion alarm just armed itself for the first time? This is a 2001...

Hey all, water seeped up through the floorboard of my 2000 Accord during a flood last summer; now I'm having a big problem with an increasingly bad odor. Any suggestions for how to get rid of it (not the car, the odor :)) ? Thanks, Rog

I bought myself a used 1999 chevy S10 and I love everything about it except it's sucking up gas like crazy. It's an automatic with the 2.2 liter engine. I thought it would be economical but it's not. I'm getting 300 miles or so from a tank (18 gals) The dealer had told me he gave it a recent tuneup. Should I try to get this remedied or is this as good a...
