Refrigerant oil is visible on the threads outside the center shaft. Can just the seal/gasket be replaced? Or does the whole compressor need replacing? 1995 Chevy S-10 pickup.

Hi all, 2000 Town Car. When I take the key out, the seats go all the way back. When I put the key in, they go back to where they were. Can I disable this? It's wearing out the mechanism, and I don't need it anyway. I've tried the procedure in the owner's manual to disable the seat memory feature, but it doesn't stay disabled. Thanks. -- Earl...

The temperature guage on my wife's 1996 Mazda MPV stays on zero. I think it might be an issue with the coolant temperature sensor, but I don't know where the sensor is located on the engine, or what it looks like. The Chilton manual is no help at all. Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice as to where to look for the coolant sensor?...

Hey There, I vended some old parts at the Dothan AL swap meet and was really impressed with the folks who are putting on this show... super nice and very helpful. Watch for big things to come from this swapmeet in the future as they also have a super facitily with lots of land to expand. I took photos of all neat and interesting cars here at the swap...

My engine all of a sudden seems to have developed knocking on low RPM yesterday. This is a 1999 Nissan Maxima at 110,000 miles and I did all the required maintenance. While I was bring it to a local mechanic, the "service engine soon" light came on. The mechanics read the code and it is something like "knock sensor malfunction", and "#2 misfire", or something...

Hey, I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla with 58,000 miles. My brakes are a bit soft, but I haven't had any scraping or other noises. But something a bit worrisome has happened the last 3 weeks. Maybe 1 out of every 2 times, I will pull out of my driveway, which slopes down steeply, and while my foot is on the brake on the way down, there will be a bit of...

Most automobiles are at least 25% less efficient then five to ten year old technologies should have given us if the auto industry had lived up to their claims of customer service... perhaps the good thing is that higher gas prices will result in less consumption... Unfortunately, less than cost-optimally efficient vehicles contribute disproportionally to...

I'm trying to remember what car has an icon symbol that looks like a circle (or oval) with a smaller circle circle inside it. The smaller circle is "hanging" from the top of the bigger circle like a teardrop. It might be an old mazda symbol but I'm not sure.

I noticed a compact 4wd vehicle in Mexico, last week, called a Zimarron. Does anyone have any information on it. Ken

I just recently bought a 2006 Saturn ION level 2. It's got 24k on it and I went to get my oil changed and accidentally asked for 10W30 instead of 5W30(Owners manual recommended oil). I live in buffalo, it's pretty cold up here, is this going to screw up my engine if I don't get it fixed immediately? I noticed that the engine sounds a tiny bit louder, I just...

I'm tired of renting a truck to occasionally move furniture or lumber and other items that are too big to fit in my car. I don't want to buy a truck that I'd only use once every month or so. I'd like to buy a small utility trailer and get a hidden hitch for my Mazda 3. But would this shorten the life of the car? Again I wouldn't be hauling a ton of bricks...
