I'm changing the steering system on my 1948 Desoto Suburban (9 passenger, 4800 pound vehicle) from the original pitman arm steering to rack and pinion steering. I purchased a rebuilt back-steer rack and pinion (45" long) that was for a 1995-2005 Chevy Cavalier or Pontiac Sunfire. I built the mounting housing, new steering shaft, new power hoses from...

I was wondering if any of you have any good ideas for organizing fasteners and small parts, etc. in one of those large wall units with zillions of bins? I picked maybe 100 of the bins with framed wall mounts up from a local retailer for a smile and I want to get my shop more functional. Do you organize your fasteners according to exactly what they are...

Trying to avoid welding in the injector bungs as the heat causes distortion, which will likely require the intakes to be remachined in order to straighten them out. However- I'm wondering why you can't machine an intermediate adapter to hold the...

To remove tint from plain windows doesn't seem too hard, I find if I slit the tint in about two or 3 inch strips I can peel the layers with a razor without too much trouble. However, on the rear window with defroster lines, what's your favorite way of doing it to avoid damaging the defroster lines?

There seem to be two camps. I've seen those that advocate stomping on the engine to high revs and backing off in the initial break-in because of some alleged benefit. Then there's a more traditional school of thought, such as this post: * groups.google . com /group/alt.autos.toyota/msg/fbdecfe9b55b6830?dmode=source Both claim scientific reasons...
