I have heard some praise about the new car, but WHAT A CAR! It had some teething problems with the fuel delivery, but one has to expect such problems on a new car which I expect will be solved before this post hits the server. I think it is a great, modern car and will propel CC into the future. It seems to be blindingly fast and handles like it is...

Now, we've kicked off at one of the better street courses we've seen in the Champ Car World Series. Long, fairly wide, passable and fast -- that's what a 750-hp race car needs. Kudos to everyone who made this possible. Now the rec.autos.sport.cart World Series. Tim Eichman, Frank....H, Gary Shell and current champion Atomic Mutant all had the highest...

MILLER: The Right Kind of Street Show Written by: Robin Miller Las Vegas, Nev. - 4/8/2007 Defying expectations of skeptics, the Vegas GP course presented a great drivers' challenge. (LAT photo) During his 17 years in the Champ Car series, Paul Tracy has driven on every kind of street course. From the Mickey Mouse layout at Miami to the ski jump at...

Don't get me wrong, I've been a CART fan since the early 90's and refuse to waste my time watching an EARL race, but I'm really starting to get worried... - It seems like half of the driver field got filled less than a week before the first race! - Nascar announcers. Great. I'd rather listen to "Well well well...". At least Jon was still there. -...

Well with all the usual excitement that the start of a season brings, I wasn't so much so this year. I watched the race this year, but unlike years past it won't be on my must do things of the weekend. Some comments on todays race, the good, the bad and the ugly. First the track was mostly good. Would have been great if they had not had that dumb chicane...

... the booby prize. The dilettantish rookie, in his first start, after claims he was expecting a podium finish (despite having made a mess of qualifying and slamming into a tire barrier in the morning practice), doesn't even make it through the first corner (slams into a wall yet again), then whines and complains that it was all the veteran's (Clarke)...

Nice wide track On track pass for lead. Cool. PT blocking. No surprise. Street course with elevation changes. Interesting chicane. Couldn't the promoter of the race hired some of those guys who pass out the escort service cards to sit in the grandstands? too many yellows already. 3 wide on a street course? More as I finish watching...

From Las Vegas Review-Journal "The three-day event, which included two days of qualifying, has inconvenienced some locals and tourists." "Event owners Dale Jensen and Bradley Yonover are thought to have invested more than $15 million in the race." "But crowds were sparse Friday and Saturday for qualifying, and Southern Nevada...

Lots of surprises! This is Will Power's second pole so not a big surprise. But Tagliani over teammate Wilson, and Dominquez over Tracy is big news/ Well., Tracy had the front row spot reserved by getting pole on the first day so perhaps he felt he didn't need to try so hard. Bordais had a bad day, going off track in the pre-qual practice session...
