danica was not the first woman to win a race in an "open wheel" racing series. that title belongs to Shirley Muldowney.

Just watching the quals...didn't see the news so I just saw the video of her hitting the guy. Everyone says it wasn't her fault so I'll take that. BUT, I'm wondering if, instead of being concerned about his injuries, she was on the radio bitching about how the officials should look into it.

Comments about the former CCWS teams needing to learn the Dallara chassis got me wondering how long specs are frozen now. Is it still three years? When will the next update be? KC is not my favorite type of track for open wheel racing, but if you are going to run there, the formula seems to be right. (CART trying to run TMS with 350 or HP too many is another...

I went to the IRL website. The first thing I saw were these huge letters saying "I Am Driven" "I Am Fast" "I Am In Control". But the video below it showed Special Ed's car from an in car camera shot running around an oval, hitting the wall and going "sky shot" ala Dario! He was certainly going fast! I don't know about the other two. Racing shunts...

per her own words in the interview after the qualifying run, they have a lot of work to do on the race setup...which probably means that what usually happens will happen...rapid drop back to end of lead lap and hold on to that for a while and then it's over. But, we shall see... Someone should hack the site and change it to the Danica Racing League....
