Just thought I'd mention that my ol' tomcat Toby is also a NASCAR fan. He pays absolutely no attention to the TV unless a race is on. He can be snoozing on the couch and when I turn on the race, he wakes up and watches it with me. Kind of amazing 'cept I'm afraid he's a Toyota fan, God forbid..... ;^) Mike

my best guess... Top Five (no particular order) Stewart - 0 Ky Busch - 1 Thanks Kyle for keepin' me from skunkdom! Earnhardt - 0 Edwards - 0 Biffle - 0 but the winner is....... Earnhardt... it's only fitting since Dega is the capitol of Jr. Nation. -0 Sure looked like it wuz Jr's race for awhile. The Dodge's also looked like they might...

Well, another plate race where it's hard to get any hints from qualifying thanks to the go-or-go-homers running significantly faster qualifying setups. However: The Win: Stewart shows the speed in qualifying was not a fluke, and gets the first win from pole we've had in a while. 1) top Chevy - is neither Nemechek or Shrader (the two fastest) or Earnhardt,...

In qualifying, Hammond mentioned that some of the go-or-go-home cars were planning to remove the altenator belt, to gain power by removing the drag of the altenator, and then replace the belt on the first pitstop. This, he showed, was going to be tricky because the altenator is the innermost belt, behind the oil pump and powersteering pump belts. What...

Stremme jumped down, leaving Junior out to dry, so he could follow Stewart to a second place finish. NASCAR is much better when drivers try to WIN rather than race for second, third, etc.

What they said! It sure is a strange lineup. Should make for an interesting race. Winner: Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Who else could it be?? 1. Although he won't win, Ken Schrader will make his presence felt and finish in the top 10. 2. Mikey will make his presence felt too. He will finish in the top 5. 3. Front row Joe just won't have it this...

Wow, Jr seemed to go 1/2 - 3/4 of a lap too soon. I thought he had it. #'s 91 and 61 should be suspended for stupidity and/or lack of proper communication with their spotter (or maybe the spotter did not alert then as to where the problems were). No matter what the exact reason those two incidents were extremely unprofessional and unnecessary.

I'm with pig! The starting lineup has me confusified. If it wuz April 1st, I'd say NASCAR wuz playing funsies with us, but it ain't... sooooo. here's my best guess... Top Five (no particular order) Stewart Ky Busch Earnhardt Edwards Biffle I'm also with pig in that my sentimental favorite is Kenny Schrader, but I know that ain't gonna happen... but...

Oy, vey, what a bizarre starting lineup! Nemechek, Schrader & Dinger all starting in the top 5? Top starting Dodge Kyle Petty? Top 10 is 5 Otas, 4 Chevies, 1 Ford....and Kahne and Harvick in only on owners' points, starting in the bottom five? if any of us had called that, someone would have said "that's sticking your neck way out....." OK: predictions....

6.1 - Why is rasnm moderated? Even though all Big 8 Usenet newsgroups have a Charter, in an unmoderated newsgroup there is no way to ensure that posts to the newsgroup abide by the Charter. Everyone is on the "honor system". Unfortunately, that oftentimes results in a newsgroup becoming a dumping ground for spam, profanity, off-topic posts, and (in the...

The charter of r.a.s.n.m, which we have all agreed to follow, prohibits "Commercial or Money-Making Posts": 4) Commercial and Money-Making Posts are defined as posts whose primary purpose is to solicit a benefit for the poster. This would include, but is not limited to, advertisements of businesses, direct advertisements of goods ...

The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated has been eliminated. Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET newsgroup. The first post from any given e-mail...

On April 1, 1994, the USENET newsgroup rec.autos.sport was divided into several racing-related groups - one of which was rec.autos.sport.nascar, or "rasn" as it became known to it's participants. On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The rationale...
