Well, as much as I dislike Sat night races - they mess up my schedule - I don't dislike them enough to boycott the RPG, so here goes. Winner - JPM. Even though he didn't show much in practice, he qualified 6th. 1. As someone else mentioned, the Hendrick cars just seem to be missing something this weekend. However, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. manages to...

Have attempted resend by regular route, but also sending here, if only to prove I made the call before the race started.... Completely empty headed on this one, but it's a Sattidy night race again, and I'll get off work just in time to see it, so I guess I gotta make the call tonight.... 1) Top Toy: Busch 2) Top Dodge: Montoya 3) Top Ford: Kenseth 4)...

Associated Press reports have Bobby extending his stay at Petty Enterprises. Sponsorship, and a few other details, need to be worked out before an announcement is made. -- Larry http :// larrysnatureshots, com

Richmond: The Win: OK, I messed it up last week, so this week I'll try to get it right: Denny Hamlin wins from the pole (double checked the starting lineup this time). 1 - top Chevy: surprisingly, the HMS cars looked kinda weak in quals. I'll go with Kevin Harvick (and 4 tires on the last stop) since he's always fast here. 2 - top Ford: they...

6.1 - Why is rasnm moderated? Even though all Big 8 Usenet newsgroups have a Charter, in an unmoderated newsgroup there is no way to ensure that posts to the newsgroup abide by the Charter. Everyone is on the "honor system". Unfortunately, that oftentimes results in a newsgroup becoming a dumping ground for spam, profanity, off-topic posts, and (in the...

The charter of r.a.s.n.m, which we have all agreed to follow, prohibits "Commercial or Money-Making Posts": 4) Commercial and Money-Making Posts are defined as posts whose primary purpose is to solicit a benefit for the poster. This would include, but is not limited to, advertisements of businesses, direct advertisements of goods ...

On April 1, 1994, the USENET newsgroup rec.autos.sport was divided into several racing-related groups - one of which was rec.autos.sport.nascar, or "rasn" as it became known to it's participants. On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The rationale...

The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated has been eliminated. Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET newsgroup. The first post from any given e-mail...

I got a survey from RPDE the other day. One of the things they asked about was what they could do to improve the experience. My thought was to offer their customers the choice between driving a current style Cup car or a classic Cup car. I'd sign up for another experience tomorrow if I could drive a Superbird, Charger Daytona, Ford Torino Talladega or...

On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The charter for this USENET newsgroup was stated in the CFV as follows: ============================================================================ CHARTER: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated The unmoderated...

My sons and I are headed out early in the am for a spring bass fishin' trip at Pomme de Terre Lake. We will not be anywhere near a wi-fi hotspot so I am posting my predictions early. Since I do not have the benefit of watching practice or quals, my top five is at best a wild-assed guess... in thinking about it, my normal predictions are just as wild-assed...

The thing that really impressed me at Dega was how fast two cars in a tight draft were, compared to a line of cars in a normally spaced draft. It didn't really seem to make any difference who the cars were, either - Kvapil with Gilliland one inch behind were just as able to rocket past the whole line as Earnhardt with Hamlin. I noticed on Fox's graphic...

Isn't this ironic? After wife Ashley Judd pushed Dario Franchitti to go to NASCAR because she was afraid he'd get hurt or killed in Indycar racing, Dario suffered a broken ankle in Saturday's race at Talledega. The booth announcers said it was inexcusable to plow into Dario's car 8 seconds after it had come to rest after his brush with the wall. But,...

OK, I do not like Kyle Bush, but didn't he pass below the yellow line and improve his place when he was going for the lead and push JJ up and out. That is not racing, that is bending the rules. Also, didn't he have his foot on the roof afterwards, isn't this also a rule violation now. And doesn't Nascar punish for ANY infraction? Hope he enjoys his...
