What's the deal with all these slow pit stops? Biff's team managed one 13.0 but all the rest were in the 14-18 second range. I thought there were all these superb athletes on the pit crews nowadays. So how come all the fat rednecks in years past could crack out sub 14 second stops regularly and slip in a few sub 13's? Wazzupwitdat?

The top five, in no order Johnson -0 Ky Busch - 1 Edwards - 1 J. Gordon - 1 Biffle - 1 The win goes to Johnson (no such luck) I also agree with her wish for Ku Busch, but I see him finishing no better than 15th. That's about what he did A dark horse may be Montoya. His car wasn't fast, he is angry about his sit at Ganassi and will probably...

At the end of last season, Kyle was with HMS, arguably the best team in NASCAR. (at the time) When he decided to leave HMS and go to JGR, I thought he was making a HUGE mistake. His ESP must work much better than mine. HMS hasn't even won a cup race yet. AMAZING !!!!! -- JerryD(upstateNY)

I got a question that I've been wondering about. How do they (NASCAR) figure out how much each position pays at the end of the races? I have noticed that some drivers are paid more even if they place 5-10 positions behind the winner.

10am - gotta do this quick like, to get it in on time... The Win: well, I haven't had any success picking the pole sitter to win this year, and I haven't had any success picking Biffle to win either. But I'll do both again, and pick Greg Biffle to win. 1) top Chevy - this is always a hard one, with so many good Chevy teams. I'll got out on a limb...

On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The charter for this USENET newsgroup was stated in the CFV as follows: ============================================================================ CHARTER: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated The unmoderated...

Well, we had a bit of a gully washer here and they had the same in Dover. But, they were able to get the N'wide race in so the track shouldn't be too green unless they have more rain tonight. Winner - It would be sort of nice to see Jeremy Mayfield (subbing in the #40) take the checkers. Sort of a "I told you I could drive". But, I don't think it will...

I gave pig trouble in an earlier post for her picks, but in running the info through the UNIVAC 300, I come up with a very similar scenario... the top five, in no order Johnson Ky Busch Edwards J. Gordon Biffle The win goes to Johnson I also agree with her wish for Ku Busch, but I see him finishing no better than 15th. A dark horse may be...

So...I wonder how long it will take the powers that be to recognize that it is time to consider covering some tracks. Starting with the short ones. Cheap and shortsighted is as cheap and shortsighted does.

The charter of r.a.s.n.m, which we have all agreed to follow, prohibits "Commercial or Money-Making Posts": 4) Commercial and Money-Making Posts are defined as posts whose primary purpose is to solicit a benefit for the poster. This would include, but is not limited to, advertisements of businesses, direct advertisements of goods ...

6.1 - Why is rasnm moderated? Even though all Big 8 Usenet newsgroups have a Charter, in an unmoderated newsgroup there is no way to ensure that posts to the newsgroup abide by the Charter. Everyone is on the "honor system". Unfortunately, that oftentimes results in a newsgroup becoming a dumping ground for spam, profanity, off-topic posts, and (in the...

On April 1, 1994, the USENET newsgroup rec.autos.sport was divided into several racing-related groups - one of which was rec.autos.sport.nascar, or "rasn" as it became known to it's participants. On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The rationale...

The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated has been eliminated. Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET newsgroup. The first post from any given e-mail...
