"Kasey Khane has taken the white flag ..that means its the last lap of the race". Just one of the many reason Bill needs to go back to local Farm news in De Moines. What an idiot.

The Win: Kahne & Edwards have been fast in practice & quals, but Pocono is a tricky track and being fastest in practice doesn't always mean anything. So I'll go with Kenseth to win. Best Chevy: Truex had a pretty good showing last week, and the DEI cars seem passably strong this week, so I'll go with Truex to be the top finishing Chevy. Best Dodge:...

Here we go on Segment Two..... The top five in no particular order are... Hamlin Johnson Martin Edwards Kahne While my data sez that Hamlin should win, my heart is with Kasey. So Kahne it is.... go DODGE! I would have placed KyBu in the mix 'cept for his accident in practice and the fact that I think even tho' he may think he is Superman,...

First race of a new segment. Let's see if I learned anything in the first seg. Winner: Mark Martin. Mark is starting third and was fourth in the last practice. It'll be his day. 1. Ryan Newman scores a top 10 and moves into the top 12 for the Chase. 2. Kyle Busch is starting in the rear after he wrecked his primary car in Happy Hour. He'll...

6.1 - Why is rasnm moderated? Even though all Big 8 Usenet newsgroups have a Charter, in an unmoderated newsgroup there is no way to ensure that posts to the newsgroup abide by the Charter. Everyone is on the "honor system". Unfortunately, that oftentimes results in a newsgroup becoming a dumping ground for spam, profanity, off-topic posts, and (in the...

The charter of r.a.s.n.m, which we have all agreed to follow, prohibits "Commercial or Money-Making Posts": 4) Commercial and Money-Making Posts are defined as posts whose primary purpose is to solicit a benefit for the poster. This would include, but is not limited to, advertisements of businesses, direct advertisements of goods ...

Tom has got the ball rolling with a review of his Chase predictions, so I figgered I'd see where I stood. My top twelve back in January were: Bower - Now 8th - Attaboy! Busch, Ku - Now 21st - Awshit! Kahne - Now 12th - Attaboy! Newman - Now 14th - Awshit! Edwards - Now 4th - Attaboy! Kenseth - Now 16th - Awshit! Busch, Ky - Now 1st - Attaboy! Stewart...

The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated has been eliminated. Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET newsgroup. The first post from any given e-mail...

On April 1, 1994, the USENET newsgroup rec.autos.sport was divided into several racing-related groups - one of which was rec.autos.sport.nascar, or "rasn" as it became known to it's participants. On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The rationale...

Well, I said I would do this, so I guess I had better. During the "pre-season" I put in my guesses as to who would be in the Chase and such. Now, is the time to see how I am stacking up at the mid-point. Here is my preseason guesses and their current status. >The Chasers ( in alphabetical order): >Greg Biffle (the Biff makes the final cut) - Ford Solidly...

Well, here it's been four whole days since I wrapped up the first segment champeenship on RASNM and I have yet to receive a single prize. Everytime I hear a car pull up outside, I just know it's Ed McMahon in the limo coming to give me my stuff. So far <sigh> it's only been the mail lady, the meter reader and the trash man. I've kept the grass cut...

As many of you know, I am no Kyle Busch fan, but I can't help but be impressed with how the young man is performing this year. Do y'all think that he is the phenom he appears to be, or is this just a run of good (outstanding!) luck? One could argue that it's because of the switch to Toyota, not Kyle that is the reason, but if that is the case, how...
