It seems like a matter of time before Target wants out of the Cup Series altogether considering the efforts lately. Chip Ganassi is ready to clean house soon I believe.

In reading the latest news from the Motor City, it appears that the Big Three are now suffering a cash crunch like never before. The prospect for improved sales are not anywhere on the horizon. Although, GM, Ford and Chrysler have maintained in the past that they are committed to the NASCAR program, it remains to be seen the strength of their commitment...

On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The charter for this USENET newsgroup was stated in the CFV as follows: ============================================================================ CHARTER: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated The unmoderated...

It's been remarkably quiet in here concerning the little dust-up between Montoya and Kyle Busch. I was glad to hear Wally and Kyle Petty say that Montoya was out of line to intentionally wreck someone under caution. He got a two lap penalty. He deserved more. That was completely uncalled for.

What can I say? I was absolutely, positively dead wrong on all accounts! The only redeeming factor is that a Dodge took the checker.... I think I'll join pig in a duet.... doo dah... doo dah.... ;^) Mike

I havenšt been so happy to not hear DW and all his self promoting crap since a few weeks back when he couldnšt talk, yet still did. Bill does have his own catch phrase, if you would just listen to the broadcast very carefully you will hear it ABOUT a Hundred times in a row. łwešll see how that plays out˛. The one other thing that I admire about Bill Weber...

Lets See... Carpenteir and Bobby Labonte on the first row. Sorenson and Franchitti in start 6th and 7th. The top Toyota is Allmendinger in 10th. Juan was fastest in the third practice.... Who knows what will happen in the race...... It's a shame that I threw away my crystal ball. It was cracked and chipped and all, but it would have at least given me...

As pig sez, this is a tough one to figger. At least it's easier (for me) than a road course. The Dodge's are strong and a win by Mopar would tickle me to no end. Here are my top five (in no order) Harvick Gordon Johnson Earnhardt Sorenson The UNIVAC sez that Harvick should be the winner, but my gut sez Sorenson. He has struggled all year...

1. Jeff Burton 2. whocares who finishes after 1st place. . it s like Al Bestwick calling the #2 starter "the outside pole". Uh, that would be 2nd Al.

Cripe, with that starting order, I don't know who/what to pick. And when you compare third practice to qualifying, it's ALL over the map. Geemeneeze. Harvick's being pretty consistent between practice and qualifying. He's not my favorite guy by a large chunk, but I'm going to call him for top Chevy. On the same basis, Kahne for top Dodge, I think. Toyotas:...

OK, enough newsgroup stuff, time for RPG. The Win: I want to say Truex, but I think I'll go with another Chevy and pick Harvick to win. 1) Best Ford - Biffle. No good reason, it's a tossup between him, Kenseth, and Edwards. 2) Best Dodge - h*ll of a qual run by Carpentier and Labonte both, but I don't think either team is strong enough to keep...

6.1 - Why is rasnm moderated? Even though all Big 8 Usenet newsgroups have a Charter, in an unmoderated newsgroup there is no way to ensure that posts to the newsgroup abide by the Charter. Everyone is on the "honor system". Unfortunately, that oftentimes results in a newsgroup becoming a dumping ground for spam, profanity, off-topic posts, and (in the...

The charter of r.a.s.n.m, which we have all agreed to follow, prohibits "Commercial or Money-Making Posts": 4) Commercial and Money-Making Posts are defined as posts whose primary purpose is to solicit a benefit for the poster. This would include, but is not limited to, advertisements of businesses, direct advertisements of goods ...

The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated has been eliminated. Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET newsgroup. The first post from any given e-mail...

On April 1, 1994, the USENET newsgroup rec.autos.sport was divided into several racing-related groups - one of which was rec.autos.sport.nascar, or "rasn" as it became known to it's participants. On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The rationale...
