We are going camping this weekend so I took the RV to the campground early to get a site. As I was driving up and back from the CG, I was listening to Sirius NASCAR radio. The topic for discussion was the recent ruling about Toyota engines in the NNS. While it aggravates the s**t out of me to see the Toyotas win, I don't think that NASCAR is playing...

6.1 - Why is rasnm moderated? Even though all Big 8 Usenet newsgroups have a Charter, in an unmoderated newsgroup there is no way to ensure that posts to the newsgroup abide by the Charter. Everyone is on the "honor system". Unfortunately, that oftentimes results in a newsgroup becoming a dumping ground for spam, profanity, off-topic posts, and (in the...

The charter of r.a.s.n.m, which we have all agreed to follow, prohibits "Commercial or Money-Making Posts": 4) Commercial and Money-Making Posts are defined as posts whose primary purpose is to solicit a benefit for the poster. This would include, but is not limited to, advertisements of businesses, direct advertisements of goods ...

The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated has been eliminated. Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET newsgroup. The first post from any given e-mail...

On April 1, 1994, the USENET newsgroup rec.autos.sport was divided into several racing-related groups - one of which was rec.autos.sport.nascar, or "rasn" as it became known to it's participants. On August 13, 1998 a second nascar-related USENET newsgroup (this group) was voted into existence: rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated, or "rasnm". The rationale...

I will really be sticking my neck out on this RPG since I won't have the benefit of practice, quals, etc. We have an RV trip planned this weekend and will be away from TV, computers, etc. so I am gonna SWAG this one. The top five (in no order)... Stewart Kahne Edwards Ky Busch Gordon with the winner being Kasey Kahne the top rookie will be...

The event that will be the most talked about for the next couple of weeks or more, will be Danica Patrick v. Milka Duno following practice for the IRL race at Mid-Ohio. You can be sure the IRL will milk that for all it's worth. And maybe, just maybe, it'll sink in to France & Helton that racing is more interesting when the racers have personality. ...

Busy bunch - aside from the usual whackers in the Nationwide race, we had: Regan Smith winning, and Aric Almirola also present, at Riverside for the Carquest late models. (not that Riverside, this one is in Nova Scotia). Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch at Iowa for the ASA race. Kevin Harvick at Oxford Plains (ME), I'm guess for another late model race? Shrader,...

Here is my RPG (funsies only... mebbee some MV points, we'll see...) for the NNS at Gateway International tonight. Since I will be at the track watching quals, I couldn't use the results to figger into my RPG. I did watch the practice sessions and from what I've seen, it should be a good competitive race. There are lots of young guns who are anxious to...
