My 1990 1/2 ton made a new noise today, sounded like valvetrain problems... then it went away. But that's somewhat irrelevant for right now - but it got me thinking if I had to replace the motor in it - it's a stickshift. If I was to borrow the smallblock from my race car (GM crate engine) will it bolt up to the trans? Is there such a thing as a manual...

There is an odd nut that came off one of the front shocks on my 1990 Jeep Cherokee. It comes out of the top of the shocks and through the top of the front wheel well. The manual calls it a "shock absorber stem nut". I need a replacement for it and the bushing it hold in place. I can't seem to find anything available online. Are they the sort of things...

Hi, I am looking alignment shop recommendation in Bay area for a 91 Camry (front wheel drive). I am aware of Custom Alignment. I just don't think $200 for alignment is worth the expense when 4 tires cost me $250. Please suggest shops within a radius of 20 miles from San Jose, Ca. Thanks very much. Regards. Niran

I finally got my mitts on my van to see what is up with the erratic shifting/transmission issue the girlfriend was talking about. It is rather hard to describe, but here is an attempt. All the indicator lights (PRN3DL) come on when it is started. Sometimes when I shift gears, it will move to define the R or D or N, etc. Other times all the lights will...

I bought a NAPA Legend battery and installed it in my car. No power, the interior lights did not even come on. I put the battery on a "Battery Tender" brand trickle charger overnight. The next morning the charger indicated the battery was fully charged, so I installed it in the car, and still no power. I took a 4-year old battery out of a second car, and...

My 96 s10 i think is dieing and i am looking for replacement engines. a 1995/1997 2.2 of some variety seems to be the likly candidate. It has to be port injected which rules out older 2.2.'s It will be much easier to find a front drive core. What are the issues of using a front drive motor in a S10? i know you will have to flip the water pump inlet and...

Hi Folks, I was installing new Oxygen sensors earlier today. I got interrupted and installed them with the protective plastic caps still on,duh. I didn't even realize my mistake until I pulled out to test drive. I got a block from my house and the engine stumbled. I thought it was just because it was cold, but it never did that before. It took a...

Hi all, I just bought a very nice Integra for my wife to use. Car is immaculately kept with no issues other than this: When she drove it home last night, she noticed no problems at all...even the A/C works which is rare for me. I went to start it up this afternoon, and noticed a little shuuder, or roughness. Took it down the block, ran OK,maybe a little...

Been having transmission problems with my car. The tranny is slipping (mostly when it is cold, after driving for about 10 mins it doesn't slip). Engine light came on and shows a #3 solenoid failure. I've been looking all over the next to point me in the right direction. Some history on the car. We drained the tranny fluid and put new along with some...
