Hi, I'm a knucklehead DIYer. Last fall I successfully replaced the radiator on my Toyota T100 pickup. Now I'm trying to replace the AC condenser. After several years of slow leaks & seaonal R134a refills, I began to notice shiny, neon green around some of the condenser coils. It's been quite a while since the last charge. I'm guessing there isn't...

Could anybody tell me how difficult it would be to cut a severely clogged cat that's also rattling out of of a 2" exhaust system using a hand-held utility saw with a metal blade, assuming there's enough room to operate? And if that's not to difficult, I'd also like to know how difficult it would be to temporarily clamp a piece of pipe into the space...

I have 1992 Lincoln Continental. I have noticed in the past couple of weeks a strong gas smell expecially when idleing. Smells like it is coming in the air conditioner vents. Any idea what might be going on?

I have an eight gallon air compressor... 4.3cfm @ 40psi and 3.5cfm @ 90psi. I've been looking at buying an inexpensive impact wrenche and notice the different ratings on them, but many times they aren't rated the same so comparison can be different. For example... For $29 I can get a no-name electric 1/2" impact wrench that plugs into my cigarette...

Hello, I have a small hole in the exhaust manifold right where it attaches to the engine -- actually a small piece of the gasket is missing. There's a little space in there that would seem ideally suited to accept a dollop of foam. The foaming insulation at the hardware store can only deal with temps below 200 degrees. Is there anything out there with a...

Hello, When storing tires (winter or summer) outdoors in one of those more or less sealed "tire bags," do folks usually add a deliquescent such as Calcium Chloride (I think that is what is often used ?) to absorb any moisture ? Or is something along these lines just never bothered with doing ? If it is done, what product is usually used ? Does...

I have to do a brake job on old Betsy and need to totally change the brake fuid at the same time. Is it best to totally drain the system, do repairs and then re-fill eveything? Or just undo what I have to and block the flow and then fill and bleed until it is all done? Or does it make any difference? If it will not affect or cause issues, number...

I'm just curious, is there any evidence that exposure to elements, ozone, whatever causes the rubber in car tires to get hard? I was whining and crying like a little girl about the Goodyear tires on my company car and how unsafe they were in the wet, they had no traction whatsoever. Eventually they wore out enough to the point that I got the fleet people...

Hard to get off Spark Plug Boots If you ever have a spark plug boot that is hard to get off one way that has worked good for me is to take a 2-3 foot 3/16 brake line and screw it into a air nozzle and then file the end of the line to look like a hypo needle and then insert it between the boot and wire and give it a short blast of air. It will balloon out...

Hello, I have a 1994 Dodge Shadow 2.2, 3 speed automatic with 170,000 miles on the motor. When I accelerate the car bogs down at 15mph, then will even out around 18mph. What is causing this?

OK... My cousin has an older Ice Cream Truck that has had all kinds of problems lately. He just had the engined serviced. Last week his fan belt broke. Now... here is what is happening. He will be driving slowly through the neighborhoods for a few hours and after while... whenever he hits the brake his music box will seemingly go real low and at a...
