Hi Group, The other day my car would not start. The battery is fully charged and the starter cranks well. My friend and I did some preliminary diagnosis with which we discovered: 1. There is 12V at the ignition coil (both wires to ground). 2. The resistance/impedance numbers of the coil are within spec. 3. There is no water in the coil, we displaced...

Looking at a big block Camaro. How annoying or livable would a 3000 stall speed converter be? Rear end is 3:23 (I suspect higher would be better because it would keep the revs up, so not sure how much slippage there would be at 35mph and low rpm's). I know gas mileage would not be good, but looking for something with with a little cruise night attitude....

Just saw a network news story stating that many dealers will no longer accept SUV's as trade in. Their mileage is so poor no one wants them. One dealer accepted one SUV a month ago. In that month no one has even asked to test drive it. For many the fuel costs exceed your SUV car payments. Based on this news report, It appears that your SUV or full...

Considering I do not use my van much, would't it be a good idea if I buy one of those battery chargers? I own some old battery chargers.I was thinking when I am not using my van, I could remove the battery and hook it up to a new floating battery charger.I guess Sears sells some good ones? cuhulin

Will the mechanical/diaphram fuel on my 1978 Dodge van pump the gas from a small gas tank (only a few gallons small gas tank) if the small gas tank is sitting on the floor of my van? Or would I need to add an auxialary electric fuel pump to the top of the small gas tank? The reason I ask is beause of the high gas prices, I want to mount a small gas tank...

I own the car above and although I think electric power steering is a neat way to save weight & energy, I would like to know the following: 1. The electric steering assist on the Malibu/Maxx is advertised as "decreasing" at higher speeds. I still find it intrusive even at over 30mph. The alignment has been done twice by a garage I know well and trust,...

I am looking for a used headlight assembly for a 1988 Ford F-250. Does anyone know if other years of Ford pickups are interchangeable with the 1988? Are they all the same for F-150, 250, and 350? Will a Bronco headlight assembly fit an F-250? I am looking at car-part,com and I see many listings of headlight assemblies for similar models and am not...

I've got a 96 windstar. The backside window broke 1 sept 07' I taped it up with (beige) packing tape when it happened. The tape served well all winter. I replaced the window mar 08. The freaking tape won't come off the body/paint of the van.! I dont want to use a razor to scrape it off. What solvent or chemical will dissolve old tape without screwing...

check the date of manufacture on your tires. If there is a number on a tire say 434 (the last number after a long list of numbers and letters) then the tire was manufactired in the 43rd week of 1994 if the number is 2505 then the tire was manufactured in the 25th week of 2005. According to ABC news 20/20 any tire older than 6 years old could separate and...
