Some owners would notice coolant loss and leaks on the back side of the 2.4L engines, resulting in $4000+ of repairs, because head bolts simply come loose by themselves. I suspect 2007+ engines will suffer the same fate down the road. "3/6/2008 Coolant Loss on 2002-2006 Toyota 2.4L, 2AZFE engines The following information concerns the loss of coolant...

There are two of those in my car and neither one is working. I'll probably take my car to mechanic to take a look as i need it to power my gps. Any ideas on what the cause might be and what roughly can i be expected to be charged for this. thank you very much

Is it common for the pivot point on a belt tensioner to seize? I was visiting a mechanic friend today who discovered the belt tensioner on my Park Avenue doesn't move more than an 1/8th inch..Certainly not enough to slip the belt off. I don't actually need a belt just yet. Looks like a little bit of work is involved seeing a coolant pipe runs through...

Is disassembling any of the ancillary equipment i.e. serpentine belt necessary? Would it help? How much play is there in the crankshaft with all bolts out? Any techniques for getting the upper bearing shell into the bearing closest the transmission? This appears to be the only tough one. Am I correct? Thank-you for your help.

So in a fit of madness I bought a '97 Lesabre with engine issues. Car is rust free in great shape with 85k miles. It was suffering from a leaky intake. Previous owner continued to add water and drive the vehicle until it overheated on a trip to the point the engine stopped. He let it cool and drove it home having to stop several time for overheat....

According to the Genuine Fluids page at an online service garage called Arts Automotive: "Toyota is claiming their Type T-IV ATF does not need to be replaced under 'normal operating conditions'. We strongly disagree. We recommend changing Type T4 fluid every 15K miles, just like regular ATF. Type T4 is not particularly expensive, and the total cost...

What is it about GM vehicles so much that the windshields are so prone to cracking? An old buddy of mine was over here about an hour ago.His late model Chevrolet Impala (I think he said it is a 2004 or 2006, I don't exactly remember) and his car has a crack all the way across the windshield.I told him, That is the way it is with General Motors vehicles,,,...

Hi, I recently bought a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with "Quadra Trac" (4 wheel drive system). I read the OM, but did not find anything regarding putting this vehicle into two wheel drive. Note: There is another version (not mine) called "Select Trac" that allows you to set two wheel drive. I have to assume that I have no control over two or four...

I installed a new head on a my 2001 Jeep Wrangler 4.0. The old one cracked. The Jeep has 78,000 miles. When I drained the oil about a quart of pure anti-freeze came pouring out first and then came the oil. I don't know how long the engine was run with this oil & anti-freeze mixture. When the engine is started cold the oil pressure gauge goes to 50lbs.and...

Hi, My car is an 85 Chevy Caprice. Every once in a while I have to get out the tire iron and tap the starter to get it to work. Only has happened twice in last 2 months, but I fear it will just get worse.. The starter motor is a rebuilt and has about 100K on it, probably, since I had it installed. Is the motor going bad, or just the solenoid,...
