Yesterday after picking Dear Grandson up at school, I drove 30 miles through Friday afternoon traffic (ugh) to pick up some parts from a machine shop that our production people will need first thing Monday morning. Because Grandson was in a particularly mellow mood. we stopped at the only Penzey's in Colorado, about 1/4 mile from the parts pickup...

Wanting to see what all the fuss was about, I took two strips of humanely-handled bacon, sliced each into three segments, and fried them until something short of totally crispy. I then arranged them on a plate and placed a square of Green & Black organic "Maya Gold" chocolate on each, then put the plate in the microwave and set it for 20 seconds. It...

I'm pretty sure I would have remembered nuts, since banana cream pie is my favorite, and the idea of nuts on top repulses me. Now I can't find one without them. When did nuts become part of the standard banana cream pie? And why??? - Tom

Rough chopped duck confit fried in an iron skillet and drained. Skillet wiped down to reduce excess fat. Oaxacan queso, minced jalapeno, and duck added to the skillet over medium heat. Corn tortilla laid on top. Fried till cheese began to brown. Flipped over so the tortilla could brown. Cut into quarters, drizzled with lime juice, sprinkled with minced...

Boneless, skinless chicken thighs marinated in tangerine juice, nuoc mam, minced garlic and minced jalapeno. Cooked in a propane smoker. Smoke provided by wood from last year's basil plants and trimmings from a lemon verbena plant that survived our mild winter. Excellent results. -- modom ** Posted from http :// www .teranews, com **
