On February 1st of this year, Hershey's finished the closure of it's Oakdale, California plant which eliminated the largest employer in Oakdale with the loss of 575 jobs. The 575 jobs are now in Monterrey Mexico. Very nice for Monterrey huh? Oakdale is the home of a very successful Chocolate Festival in the summer. Luckily, the chocolate festival will...

Hello All! I've mentioned that I try store brands from time to time if it seems probable they can replace name-brand items. Today, I bought a can of Giant Stores "Vegetable Juice", an obvious take off on V-8. It wasn't bad at all even if it seemed lower in celery than the original. With a shot of Worcestershire sauce, as I usually drink it, there...

Today is D's birthday. One of the things I gave her was a copy of this picture: http :// artforum, com /uploads/upload.000/id19958/article00.jpg which shows young men in Paris enthusastically celebrating her birthday in 1968. Well, not exactly. The boys and girls of '68 had a slightly different agenda, but my false caption altered history in D's favor. Another...
