Laurence Simon writes more: * peta.isfullofcrap . com / EATAPETA Day is March 15. If the weather is nice, I'll grill some beef ribs. Last year it was veal chops. chsw ...

This topic seems to have been a "favorite" in rec.food.cooking, that I used to read some years ago. So I'll start again. Some friends in Israel sent me some za'atar from the shuk in Jerusalem. I took some boneless chicken breasts, and marinated them for about 3 hours in a mixture of white wine, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped onions, salt and...

Hi - I am looking for a recipe for cottage cheese pie, to be served as a main course at a lunch I am making for a friend's 60th birthday. Does anyone have a good recipe? No noodles, though. Thanks. A friend tried to make sweet potato latkes, and they didn't cook up nicely. She grated them, then mushed some of them in the food processor, added the usual suspects (egg, flour, salt, pepper), and fried until golden on the outsides. They were not cooked all the way through. Is it a temperature thing, too hot or too cold, or is there something one...

I had some purchased meatballs in the freezer so we decided to make Unstuffed Cabbage since quickie meals are always needed around here. For some reason the meatballs fell apart totally in the cabbage-tomato sauce so about 3 more cups of water (with beef bouillon cubes) turned it into a kind of hamburger cabbage borscht. Which was welcome anyway because...

I'd appreciate any suggestions for Shabbos meals at home for a large group (70-80) people. I'm thinking in terms of something to serve as individual plates for Friday night, but served family style for Shabbos day. Any menu suggestions would be appreciated. Also would appreciate cholent recipe guidelines for that quantity. Thanks. Cyndee ____________________________________________________ ...
