It's delicious when baked in tin foil packages containing also a sprig of rosemary, a few olives, a bit of lemon juice and a pinch of salt and pepper. Put it in the oven for about fifteen minutes. I am looking for a kosher butcher/grocery store, online is ok, somewhere in the Southeast so that I buy some products such as kishke, kosher challah, and so on. If any of you know of a source for...

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has any good sources for Jewish food culture, specifically surrounding the tradition of eating a head on Rosh Hashana. Those who follow the Ashkenazi customs generally use Fish head, whereas those that follow the Sephardic customs usually use a lamb or goat head. I was hoping someone would have some kind of source for...

Has anyone heard of fermenting a whole head of cabbage (referred to as "sour head" on the pages I've looked at) to make sauerkraut instead of shredding it? If so, is there a recipe/process for it? I've tracked it down as far as the Balkans (Serbia/Croatia), and it seems to be used as leaves for making cabbage rolls (please start a new thread/new message...

Tilapia is one of our favorite fishes. I marinate fish in milk. Then I use egg beaters and matzoh meal or bread crumbs. Then I bake it in the oven.Or I saute peppers, onions, and tomatoes and pour over fish and then bake in oven.Sometimes I use MRS.Smith's dried tomato and basil. Happy eating.
