Just wanted to announce a new website I've put up: www .taptracker, com It's basically a draft beer availability database. It relies on submissions for the data. It's free and there's no affiliation with any bars or beers.

Just discovered a tasty low alcohol (4%) dark beer called Klaster. Very sweet and tasty, thou not as sweet as a non alcohol malt drink I tried in Israel. A nice change from some of the over the top beers like Arrogant Bastard. Any one else tried it, what do you think? I found it at a Nugget Market in Roseville CA and Beerworks in Seattle. Nels --...

I'll beat this dead horse again, I have been beating this dead horse since the mid-1990's and I will keep on beating this dead horse until there is nothing left. With this, I will not point fingers directly at anyone, just ask questions. Any and all industry folk please chime in. Who is to blame? The brewer or importer? A few actually buy back stale beer....

A handful of BeerAdvocates are already talking about it, but let's make it official ... We recently approached Boston Beer Co. with the idea of sending every BeerAdvocate magazine Founding Subscriber the new Samuel Adams Boston Lager glass, as we like it so much and thought others would too. It's en route now, accompanied by a letter from Jim Koch in which...

We've pointed our more than several times that the majority of American brewers have brewed Belgian-style ale(s) or are at least influenced by the Belgian beer culture. Some beer geeks may not want to admit it but the popularity for Belgian beer will surpass English and German beer styles, if it has not already. Furthermore Fatty Boombalatty, an interesting...

Miller Chill has reached fad status very quickly. Miller Brewing has been banking on the Latino beer drinkers in the US to carry sales along. Over two million cases have been sold with reportedly 50% of sales coming from wine, spirits and other non-beer drinkers. While sales are great now, there will be several if not a score of clones from other brewers...

Here's an interesting press release. Fuller's hosted 8 employees of the British Beer Company (a pub chain in Massachusetts) in London, England; exposing them to the pub culture and schooling them in cask- conditioned beer handling. I'd be interested to know exactly what they learned, if they feel comfortable handling real ale now, and how much of what...
