way of tea, tea tao/dao, chadao, confusing for a westerner to understand and easterners to agree on I think is a problem linking chinese tea ceremony/arts/brewing/culture to tao/dao because in most english speakers understand of tao/dao is one the spelling differences and two the fact that it is used to represet tao/dao(ism), which is not a good representation...

I've been drinking tea for some years, but never managed to understando how to do multiple infusions of the same leaves. So, I have the the impression that I am wasting the leaves, not withdrawing all their potential. As I am the only tea drinker at home, I use a mug with a Chatsford mesh infuser. My questions are these: Multiple infusions must be made...

Does anyone have small children that drink tea? I drink several cups of tea a day and I am trying to get my 5 year old to drink tea. It seems many herbal teas are safe for children and may have some health benefits.

There are teas that reward many steeps. And, for me, there are teas that only get interesting *after* many steeps. Chief among these, I find, are many - most! - cooked Pu'ers and border teas (Lubiancha.) I usually find them kind of muddy and afflicted by off notes, for seven, eight, or nine steeps. Then, around the time when the liquor loses its opacity,...

Hey Everybody, sorry I don't post more often. The Paris recommendations were very helpful. I have a few questions about white pu-er. I've had two: the Rishi Green Tuo Cha (good, expensive) and the 2007 Silver Thread Cake from the puerh shop (better, cheaper). Anyway, I'm kind of excited about the possibility of more. Four questions: 1. Any other...

Hello All, Does anyone grow tea, as a hobby? I live in southwest Ohio / USA, not sure if the climate here is suitable. I heard of a guy in northern Ohio (west of Canton) that grows tea, but did not get much information in the article as to the "how to's". A link to the article ... http :// ourohio.org/index.php?page=in-mint-condition I have read...

A discussion about this statement came up in a post today, and it was proven very clearly by Dominic through a funny but true comment that it is a foolish statement. But then I thought about it a bit more and it made me wonder if there is actually some kind of official organization somewhere that defines standards of quality, how fine, how expensive, how *good*,...

I'm just wondering about the general preference out there. In general I prefer Indian tea to Chinese; my latest obession has been the Tarajulie Assam, it's delicious all day, morning, noon, and night. And I love spicy chai with hints of cumin. However China has caught my tongue lately as well, a light Keemun that has a mellow sweetness. Maybe my palate...

This particular tea, apparently a bit of the finest Da Hong Pao blessed too celebrate the 10th Anniversary of sanctification of the Guan Yin's (Goddess of Mercy) Statue in Nanhai District (Guangdong province) is quite exceptional, if a little costly. I bought this tea because I was influenced by its description and, indeed, it is an extraordinary tea. How...
