Hi, I recently bought an enamel-on-steel kettle to boil water (it is covered with black enamel on the inside). After i used it several times, i was cleaning the inside with a paper towel and i saw a lot of dark residue left on the paper towel. Is it normal? It seems like after i cleaned it the traces of that stuff disappeared but after i boiled the...

I just purchased from Specialteas my idea of a good bulk buy of loose-leaf Chinese green tea: 2 lbs. 533 Lung Ching plus $4.95 s/h for $40.35, or $1.26 per oz. delivered. It isn't their best Dragon Well, since it includes other than the buds, but the lot I had before was nice. 2 lbs. should last a long time, so I hope it comes in the re-sealable pouches...

Hi all, Before I start, I'd like to say that I'm new to this community, so I apologize if I breach any rules of etiquette here. I've been searching for this information using Google Groups and it looks like people can get touchy when discussion turns commercial. I'm only looking for information. Also, this post may be a little long winded, but I'm not sure...

I have just received a new bamboo tea tray from Dragon Tea House, it had a really strong smell out of the box and seems to have some type of light oil teatment on it. I am still waiting for an answer from them as to what exactly the treatment on this tray is, but in the meantime, if there are any woodworkers or others here that have some experience with...

By Shailagh Murray PHILADELPHIA -- Sen. Barack Obama sought to quell the political firestorm stirred by his former pastor Jeremiah Wright with a deeply personal speech about black anger, white anger, and the gulf that race continues to represent in U.S. society. "Race is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now," Obama asserted....

It's a great tea I got from somebody else who bough it during a trip to China. However it's running out and I can't identify it to get more. There is Chinese writing on the packaging which I can't recognize however. I would be extremely grateful if anyone can give me a hint as to what tea this is from these pictures is took of it: packaging - * i27.tinypic . com /oqbps5.jpg closeup...

I've got an interest in the 30-second blanch issue, which has been questioned here as an old conundrum recently. But now, as I read more about water quality, customs, and practices, I'm picking up additional info that seem to support 30-seconding. 1. Tea leaves do have some taste resulting from organic defense against aphids, etc.. It's a jungle out...

Hi, A friend of mine will be working in Tianjin in the next couple of months. Can you recommend him some good places for buying teas? Thanks, Gyorgy

Found an interesting article on tasting that I thought the group might find interesting. The article is on wine, but of course there are parallels: * w w w .washingtonpost . com /wp-dyn/content/article/2008/03/11/AR2008031100730.html?hpid%3Dsmartliving&sub=AR I personally am often confounded by trying to describe the taste of a particular tea, or trying...

Has anybody ordered tea from Thunderbolt Tea lately? I placed an order on Jan 26 and have received nothing thus far and all my attempts to correspond with them have gone unanswered. I did use their "free shipping" option, which is supposed to use regular mail and according to their site could take 15-30 days to arrive. But were now at more than six weeks. I'm...
