Today I was out, and the local shop had something sold by Hedley's in Ceylon. Big thumbs down. The blackcurrant flavour is somewhat cartoonish and the tea flavour underneath it isn't really very vivid. I was expecting something

Damn, this stuff's good! * w w w .eastteas . com /product.php?cat=korea I do like tea from East Teas and most times I'm in London I make a trip to Borough Market and their stall. Nice chap too, generous with samples, chat and recommendations. This is one of the bigger leafed teas I've had and certainly the curliest. It brews easily and isn't too fussy...

Dear friends, specially from planter community! At times of emergency, we are short of information. With tonnes of Agrochemicals being used in the Tea Plantations, the risk of poisoning and its effects can be severe if not fatal. I have personally seen a few cases as a planter and not all of them had happy ending. This is a list of Symptoms and Antidotes...

A local business opened a new branch about a week ago, and my husband and I went by to have a look. They were giving away semi-hard clear plastic waterbottles that were free and since we both drink a lot of water and like to have it on hand we snagged a couple. Today I was trying to get the smell of some green jasmine that I had put in mine out of it...

So I have broke free of the (admittedly nice) tea rut finally and begun to crave some greens outside of BLC now that it is Spring. I just posted a bit on Upton's superior grade Sencha on teasphere, so I figured I toss it up here as well for anyone interested: OK, so finally back on the horse again and out of the rut I=92ve been in. The Sencha Yamato...

I know, folks are down on flavoured teas around here, but now and then I like a cup of blackcurrant tea. Today I was out, and the local shop had something sold by Hedley's in Ceylon. Big thumbs down. The blackcurrant flavour is somewhat cartoonish and the tea flavour underneath it isn't really very vivid. I was expecting something like Twining's blackcurrant...

OK, so I was going to build a nice custom wall-mounted display case but time restraints and life has made that an impossibility right now. I went to a local dealer in the mall who sells rosewood and Asian wares but the product he had was way overpriced and way below any sort of quality standards. I just want something nice with a glass front to enclose it,...

As I'm enjoying the luxury of my morning Sichuan Black, this is a real awakening. The area of Wenchuan is predominantly agricultural and thick with tea farms. These are the people who provide us with these gifts of the earth and now the earth has crumbled beneath them. I received this letter this afternoon (PDT) from Gordon from Dragon Teahouse in China. The situation is indeed grave and very sad. "Dear friend, Thank you for your letter, my hometown was hit by the earthquake badly. My Mum and Dad was in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, 90 Km from Wenchuan, the center of the earthquake. They told me that they...

To all our friends in China - we hope you are all well and safe. Please let the group know if you are in need of help and how we can be of assistance. In the USA, the Red Cross is accepting donations and forwarding them to Red Cross China. Shen

What a sad day. For my upcoming wedding we are planning on incorporating tea into the gifts for guests, one of her favorites and one of mine. She is going Shui Xian, and I had been planning on BLC. However, I just got news that this years BLC is not up to snuff and it seems like I will have to go with a substitute now :( I figured I'd share for two reasons,...

I've written a couple of questions to both Jing and Sebestian over the last month or so and have received no response, has anyone else heard from them? -Melinda
