I'm considering a small (amateur) cosmetics manufacturing project and looking for - no, not investors! - just advice. I'm asking for it here because I'm less likely to be laughed at on this newsgroup than somewhere else. I can explain... People who fitfully follow the research on the relationship between tea and health probably have heard murmurs about...

For quite a while I've noticed that for lots of teas (e.g. young raw Pu'er, most oolong, first flush Darjeeling) the color of the leaves changes radically over the course of multiple steeps. Leaves that when dry are some shade of brown (most of the above) or multicolored (FFDJ, Oriental Beauty, some young shengs) gradually reach a uniform shade of green....

Hey all, I've come up short trying to find info on some Chinese rice noodles (flakes) that I have now become addicted to. There is precious little info on the bag but the only English mentions "Guobian flakes." They are a fairly wide, flat, dried rice noodle. The only other info is on the mfr. which is Fuzhou Luhong Food Co. which also turns up nothing....

It almost seems a bit redundant to point out that tea might have the ability to alleviate fatigue. After all, for many people who drink it (and coffee) that's one of tea's most appealing features. But, according to more than one study, it's not just the caffeine content of tea that imparts this benefit. Recent research in Japan appears to have confirmed...

Hello. Like others I seem to be sensitive to too much caffeine and most greens, whether Chinese (like long jing), Japanese sencha or low oxidized Taiwan oolongs, bother my stomach as well. When I explained this to the folks at Seven Cups Tea they recommended the An Ji Bai Cha. It was very good (but it is light!), slight sweetness, and seems to be low in...

Ssso I'm getting a bit bored with the standard teas (done 'em all) and am looking at the flavored teas in the Upton catalog. Any recommendations?

I found when I was browsing for tea in HK in December that the high grade Dragonwell (Long Jing/Lung Jing) carried by the few shops I visited was from Shifeng (Lion Peak) near the West Lake that all Long Jing is supposed to come from. I was told it is a single farm but either must be enormous or some sort of network qualifying as a brand of sorts. Ten...

The servant is asked if he had sencha. He says no but has genmaicha. He is told not to burn the tea but use water just less than boiling. I dont remember but I think the white tea cup had a handle and maybe a saucer. Jim
