I have a special tea that is beneficial to Diabetics. Steeping and drinking the tea as instructed will reduce the sugar level in the bloodstream naturally. Furthermore, no restriction, eat all that you want but eat in moderation. No side effect as it is all natural. However, Diabetics with High Blood Pressure will need to consult his Medical Doctor or physician...

The little grocery store that I shop at sometimes; the only one with a "used meat bin", has new management, and one of the first things they did was stop selling any close-dated/outdated packaged meats. That's where I used to buy most of my cured meats. (Who cares if a package of wienies or a whole pepperoni is a week past its freshness date?) I...

I am just getting started making my own jam - I have had it co-packed by New Canaan Farms the last few years. Any input on making large quantities of jam would be helpful. They have a big steam kettle, but I will need to work in a commercial kitchen on a gas stove. Understand a refractometer will be helpful. Any other suggestions regarding equipment,...

Hi! Observation: I just bought a Four Seasons Electric Digital Fryer/Steamer/Boiler (sold as an electric turkey fryer at Dick's Sporting Goods for approx. $90.00) to try in water bath canning because of limited stove top AND previous[bad] experiences in heat loss and general messiness of a stove-top bath. What a pleasure!!! Fill it up. Set a temp....

Well, chopped and froze on a bun pan the remaining sweet chiles from the garden. Looked to be about two quart bags and the plants are finished. Also put up three more quart vac bags of blanched broccoli this afternoon. Next crop of broccoli should be next week. We ate one head of cabbage on New Years Day with some black eyed peas as a side dish, old...

Hello, I have a couple of jars of brining salts with spices I bought at World Market. We did not use it for turkey which would have been our first time. Well now I am wondering what else can this be used for. What dishes or meats can I brine like this turkey should have been (maybe will later tho). This jar is.. "The Spice Hunter" Turkey Brine For moist...

New Year Greetings to all! I want to bottle/can my dumpling dipping sauce: 1 qt vinegar, 1 qt soy sauce, a 3 in. knob of minced ginger, 1 head minced garlic, some red pepper flakes. Usually, i make a smaller batch & just refrigerate it, but now i'd like to put it up. I've searched Ball, USDA, UMN, & UGA to no avail. Does anyone know what method I ought...

Now that it's really winter here -- both cold and snow-- and the holiday season is over, I'm thinking about foods to can that don't require out-of-season fruits or veggies. Which got me thinking about mustard. A bit over a year ago I made and canned some mustards to go into Christmas boxes. As luck would have it the amount made exactly fit my giving...

Hi! I'm actually posting a question for a small farmer in the northeast of Brazil that is looking for an affordable/efficient design for a solar dehydrator. I'm unsure of the crops but I'm sure it should be any/everything from bananas to cashew fruit. They need to be able to build it easily with minimal but easily attainable imported parts (solar panel...
