When installing speakers and the wiring tangs are _not_ marked for positive and ground (+/-) does it matter which speaker tang is chosen for ground (-)? - Mike

I have a 2004 Silverado I need a 60A connection in the cab. I've tried googling the group to see if there was any info, but mostly got sigs with Silverado in them. <g> Within the collective wisdom of this group I suspect a few of you may have run power into a +/- 2004 Silverado or its ilk. If you have, how did you route the wire? Did you find a pre-drilled...

Okay, first off don't laugh at me too bad, but the factory alarm in my 1997 Civic EX is starting to act up. I decided to check around and see what the locals charged to put an aftermarket alarm in. Well, I called around and was shocked to see that NONE of my local shops do starter disables any more. Even more shocking was that the labor they charged...

My sister got given some speakers for free and wants me to fit them into her Ford KA. The speakers are Pioneer TS-A6911 (http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/archive/TS-A6911/index.html) The headunit is a Goodmans GCE7207I (http://www.goodmans.co.uk/productdetails.aspx?pid=GCE7207I&language=en-GB) I have access to a 200 watt amp for free as well, but...

Hi, guys, I own a DUAL XDM6820. The unit burned out most likely due to a short while plugging it in the front panel. I opened it, and it looks like the only part that's gone bad is a resistor. Unfortunately, the resistor is so burned that I can't see its resistence specs. Do any of you guys know the specs on the resistor at R732 for XDM6820 MAIN PCB...

I have an Alpine CDA-9812RB, with stereo sub pre-out, and AFAIK no provision for switching to mono out. I have a bridgeable mono amp for a sub that I'm going to fit in the rear of the car, and fortunately the battery is under the rear seats. I'd like to use the existing rear speaker cables for pre-out signal plus switching. Question is, should I just use...

I know the specs are for 2 ohm stereo and 4 ohm mono, but has anybody ever run one for an extended period at a lower resistance? I am replacing my JL 10W6's and it's near impossible now to find a good sub that has dual 6 ohm voicecoils (the reviews on the Audiobahn's are that they are crap for SQ). Althoughthe amp is old, it's a classic and still runs p...

The 2000 Camry XLE has the premium JBL sound system with a separate amp. The existing Camry radio/6 CD changer went south and I'm replacing it with a new head unit. So I have questions: 1 Is the amp located behind the glove compartment for the 2000 Camry XLE? 2 Where can I get pinout and interconnection diagram information for the XLE? I might...
