I have a 2006 Mustang GT that I am thinking about adding an amp/sub to. Currently, I replaced the stock Shaker 500 head unit with an Alpine CDA-9885 and all the 6x8s with Infinity Kappa 682.7s while leaving the door "subwoofers" connected to the stock setup. I am considering adding an amp/sub in the trunk because the door subwoofers suck and I am thinking...

Hi all My son bought some 6" Kenwood speakers from a local shop, not cheapies, and we installed them on the rear parcel shelf of his car on Sunday. If we crank the volume (to around 75%) and bass up the distortion is really severe. You can see the cones bouncing up and down and they make a vibrating sound which is very unpleasant so he has to either...

Tomorow, Senate Bill 1325 is coming to a vote before a State Senate committee. That's Tuesday April 29, at 1:30 p.m., in Sacramento. If it passes, it will allow SPEED camera tickets - also known as photo radar tickets - to be issued automatically and mailed to you. To stop SB 1325, call the Senators who are on the Senate Transportation Committee....

I bought a 2008 Scion TC recently and am happy with everything except for the factory sub. To its credit it has what seems to be plenty of power for me, but I'm annoyed about the way the box and the set were designed. It seems like the audio engineers were primarily interested in getting the boominess tuned at around 90-100 Hz, which is really annoying....

Perhaps some of you experienced guys can give me some ideas as to why I am not satisfied with my updated HU and front/rear speakers in my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. My HU is the Alpine 9857. This radio is rated at 18 watts per channel, but many folks consider that a very conservative rating on this particular HU. I am not yet running an amp, although...

Hi all, I need a new antenna (just the whip) which is bolted to the antenna base. I am looking for a smaller flexible antenna. My current one is on a jeep, its fine but it hits a rack I installed on the roof. Anybody know of a quality smaller plastic or rubber style whip? Sorta like what they put for OnStar? Anybody have any ideas for a quality one?...

Precision Sound on 823 Pico in Santa Monica, CA =3D TRASH!! This car audio installation company has the worst professionalism of any company that I have ever dealt with. My experience with these screw ups is as follows : I was first referred to them by my local Saturn dealership. They said that they do good work. Being that my experience with Saturn...

GOD: Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions, violets, thistle and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect, no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long lasting blossoms attracts...

I've found the answer to my question 5.17 How do I determine a speaker's polarity? [IDB] If you have a speaker and the terminals are no longer marked, you can do a simple test to determine which terminal is positive (+) and which is negative (-). This test is useful for midrange/midbass/subwoofers, but not for tweeters. Use a 1.5V battery (AA, C, D)...
