Hi All, A couple weeks ago my radio in my ford fiesta started to behave very strangely. After around 10-15min of driving, the radio signal became weaker and weaker and at the end I couldn't listen to any station at all. When I stop the car and it has a little bit of break then again I can listen to the radio but after a short period of time is loses...

Have a Pioneer KEH-P4700 stereo in my car with a CDX-P620S 6 CD- Changer. Can I get new stereo unit, but still use the 6 CD-Changer? I talked to a guy at best buy and he said it would work as long as the stereo was IP-Bus. I can not find anywhere if it is or not. Thanks!!

I just inherited a 1997 Honda Accord which has a factory installed head-unit that plays radio and CDs. I'm trying to figure out a good solution to add MP3 functionality to the car. There are obviously plenty of aftermarket CD receivers that also include aux inputs for an MP3 player or some that can use a USB flashdrive. I noticed though that companies...

I have had a pair of Jensen speakers in my car for about 15 years but they did not get very much activity in that time. The diaphragms have 3 sections - the inner one that looks like a low mound and is about 1" diameter. - the middle one of about 3" diameter that the mound seems to sit on - the outer one that is about 4" diameter maximum and...

I'm going to install a subwoofer in my 350z. Planning on using the factory cut out behind the drivers seat. Any suggestions on what to stuff in behind it to deaden the area? t

As a dealer/repair-type how easy is it to diagnose, and of course fix, alternator whine? I've got a bad case, and it has better and worse stages; some mornings it seems to be a lot worse than others, and sometimes a few good whacks on the dash by the h/u seems to knock it back 50%. My sub amp died, and therefore the subs are out of the truck now. But I...

Hey I was hoping someone would be able to give me some advice on the best way to set up/wire the sound system in my boat... Wiring up my boat for a sound system, Basically I have 2 front and 2 rear infinity kappa 6.5 speakers, and plan on purchasing a head unit and amp. There is also a small cut out in the back of the boat that I plan on putting a...

Hey there. I have not been into car audio for probly 5 years now. Back when I had a good car, and was into car audio, Image Dynamics had the lightest subs, IDQ. Now a days, I cant source brand new IDQ subs. So, what brand/model make seriously light weight subs that sound awesome these days? thanks

Hi guys! Wow, it must have been 10 years since I used rec.audio.car!!! I've got a XM-3e but have lost the subwoofer out level remote control. It would just be a variable resistor of some description, but i'm unsure of the value. The pinouts of the connector (it's an RJ11 or RJ12 from memory) would be handy too. Can anyone help me out??? Damo.

This is just a shot in the dark, but maybe someone will know I am dying to find where i can buy or get a copy of the old, mid 90's, IASCA test CD that had 3 songs at the end - 3rd to last song was "Trial of Seconds" i believe, which is on an Autosound 2000 disc that Crutchfield sells... it starts off with a car starting and then a huuuuge sweeping bass...

Now that sdisk storage prices have come way down (1TB drives @ or about $150 to $200) I am wondering how I might go about playing lossless audio files in my car. Currently I have a Alpine touch screen head unit (IVA-W200 I think) which will support my Ipod 4G photo (which will play the Apple lossles files). All that being a good thing with the exception...
