I'm going to get rid of my 30yr old stereo Amp & Receiver and buy something more up-to-date. Even though I'm looking for something new, I'm keeping my old Nakamichi Dragon cassette player/recorder and My Teac GX-636 reel-to- reel. I'm not very up-to-date on the latest devices, so I don't know what I should be looking for. I do want a one piece amp/receiver...

I am trying to repair a PE 2015 but cannot remove the turntable from the base frame to get inside. The main two problems are as follows: 1) The armlift will not move high enough to lift the arm. I have given it a little oil which has helped, but it is still not lifting high enough to move the arm over to the play position.. 2) The auto play function...

I'm looking for info on two speakers for a friend. They were bought in the 1980s, 150W each Peterson brand, and made in Sweden or Switzerland. They are floorstanding, 1meter tall, with 5 cones each - 2 tweeters, 2 woofers, 1 mid range. That may seem nondescript, but listening to classical music through them is a dream. As good or better than most others...

A newbie at seperates and recenty aquired an adcom preamp tuner with a couple of adcom gfa-545 stereo amps. My speakers a Magnepan SMGa's. My question is can each of the stereo amps be bridged to mono? If so, I need direction on wiring. Thx in advance.

I'm looking for some stereo music recordings that show off the stereo effect - creating a "sound image" that locates various instruments and voices discretely in space. This tends to be more common in simply-recorded orchestral pieces, less so in pop music which seems to crowd all the tracks into the center of the sound-stage. I'm not looking for surround-coded...

http :// www .npr.org/euonline/pub/iboc/low_bit_rate_coder_report.pdf Thus, in general it appears that listeners made decisions about quality fairly early in the listening experience (within the first 10-15 seconds) and did not change their opinions after they listened for extended periods.

I own a copy of the Denon Audio Technical CD (38C39-7147.) The enclosed text materials are very limited. I'd like to make maximum use of it. Can anyone point me to a link where the I can learn more about the use of the various tracks on the CD in evaluating audio hardware? Thanks. baumgrenze

Please tell me what's the purpose of the silver or gold reflective surface on a SACD disc. And which is better for sound quality? Thanks

I am thinking about purchasing a used Hydra Power Conditioner with Diamond back and Venom Cables. Any suggestions as to where? Any thoughts about efficacy? Thanks!
