I was just watching "Wired Science" on PBS. They just did a "shoot-out" between digital and analog sound. I'm not going to argue with the result, because they so screwed-up the way that they explained what they were doing to the TV audience as to make the entire thing worthless. First they introduced a recording engineer who's Chicago studio is all analog....

Saw this on Money: < * money.cnn . com /2007/11/02/smbusiness/audio.fsb/index.htm?postversion=2007110213> Seems it stores the music files in memory, not hard discs. -- David Bath - RAHE Co-moderator

Hello, I'm looking for some good CDs (DVD-A and SACD are fine too) that have a good recording of an acoustic upright double bass (particularly in regards to strumming). Thanks in advance for you references. Best regards, -DJ

hey-Hey!!!, If y'all were going to construct a power supply for a big tube amp( B+ ~650, current ~350 mA) would you use Hg vapour tubes in the PS or damper diodes? Seems both have some advantages. Glow is nice for sure...:) cheers, Douglas

A acquaintance of mine is wanting to upgrade his amplifier, an EL34-based tube amp wired in ultralinear configuration. I'm considering buying it, but am unsure if this amp's 20 wpc is enough to drive my Boston Acoustics T-830 speakers. Right now they're driven with a 50 wpc Harmon Kardon vintage solid state amp, and that setup can be played LOUD. If...

Quick question... I've got a mini mixing desk (Tapco Mix 60) that's useful for some live stuff (running mic and guitar effects through loop pedal) but I've managed to lose the power supply. Can't seem to find one anywhere (no response from Tapco) and it seems to be a waste to buy a new desk. Wondered about fashioning my own adaptor (weird input connector...
