Spouse watches TV. I listen to music. She won't close caption. I use Bose noise-reduction units on my laptop to listen to music, but I can still here the TV, no matter how low it goes. I assume I need over the ear headphones. But what are the best that will close to 100 percent drown out TV and other noise?

A friend of mine is desperately seeking a pair of Neat Petite speakers -- his wife's hearing is slightly impaired and while his own Linn speakers make her ears ache, my little Neat Petites suit her just perfectly. Neat in the UK isn't making the Petite model any longer -- can anyone suggest an internet forum which might be useful for sourcing a pair?

Hi there, I bought a pair of Dynaudio Acoustic C3 speakers and like to read a manual (I'm not secure of their roomplacing-preferences) I already mailed Dynaudio, but the monitors are too old that they have any information for me (except of a spec-sheet). Can you please help me if you have a manual or know someone who still owes those monitors. bantenjesh@hotmail . com Thank...

Do any of you informed audio gurus have any comments on the sound, tonality, dynamic range, etc. of any of the models of Definitive Technology Mythos ST speakers? I've read several good reviews of them and I should mention that I listen to all types of music (except Country), and would also watch movies with them over my home theater. -- --DaveW ...

Steve Guttenberg of CNET writes about some computer speakers that he claims are "audiophile grade". Anyone have an experience with them? < * w w w .cnet . com /8301-13645_1-9946736-47.html?tag=bnpr> -- David Bath - RAHE Co-moderator

A short time ago we had a discussion involving fussiness with respect to CD-Rs and high end CD players. Perhaps some can shed light on what's going in this Arcam player posted on the ng, rec.music.classical.recordings * groups.google . com /group/rec.music.classical.recordings/browse_thread/thread/8681962fbfe38e1f/d5013552dc1f70d2?hl=en&lnk=st&q=#d5013552dc1f70d2...

I have a McIntosh 2100 that was performance certified in 1976 at a clinic. Now it needs service - one of the channels intermittently drops. Do they still have those free clinics?

My Pioneer PDR-04 standalone CD recorder collapsed and I decided not to go with the quoted repair bill of $900 Australian (about $850 US) ..... a tad more than the unit cost about eight years ago. I just picked up an as-new secondhand PDR-609 as a far more economic replacement. Just one thing though -- the 04 unit said it used 1-bit mastering for analog...
