Hi: The Townshend Audio Maximum Super-Tweeter is said to be the best super-tweeter currently available. What is the mechanism that makes it work so well? On the links it says, the tweeter uses neodymium magnets. * w w w .townshendaudio . net /index.php?option=com content&task=view&id'&Itemid=81 * w w w .highendcable.co.uk/Townshend%20Maxim...

I have replaced the caps in a 23 year old pv5 preamp with new cj caps except in 2 cases. In one instance I used an auricap brand and I am unsure of what to use in the 2nd case. My concern? The remaining caps to be replaced couple the signal to the loudspeaker. A 2.2uf 250v cap is shunted by a .15uf 200v cap. Conrad- johnson does not have replaceements....

Hi there, I've bought a Behringer Powerplay Pro-XL HA-4700, and I'm not very happy with it. There is some clearly audible whit(ish) noise, even with all volume pots turned down. It is that loud that if I turn the pots up, it gets only a bit louder. Annoying, but I could live with that. What I don't like: as soon as I connect a source to the main inputs (balanced...

X-Post & f'up to rec.audio.tech Hi all, I am using the audio firewire interfaces Yamaha 01X and i88X. If I make the 01X the wordclock master, I have serious dropouts. If my PC is the master, I have a short dropout roughly every 3-4 minutes. I have read that audio dropouts can occur, if the firewire interface has the same IRQ as other devices, which...

I installed a subwoofer amp, at the moment I am using the high level input on the amp. That means I'm running wires from left and right speakers to the amp input connector. So I have the rear speakers in parallel with the sub amp inputs. All works fine when the ignition is turned on, but when the motor is started one of two things happens. 1) The volume...

One m-block is finished and I'm getting some worrisome SW results. I've done quite a bit of searching but can't find a really satisfactory on-line, straight forward source for amp SW testing and result interpretation. Suggestions? Sometimes I nail Google search terms and sometimes not. Wink

This is the Belkin Mobility Kit for RoadyXT & Xpress. And this is a kitten. meow Yes, exactly. Now, the Belkin Mobility Kit for RoadyXT & Xpress works to turn your Delphi RoadyXT or Audiovox Xpress XM Satellite radio receiver into a portable unit. It comes with a radio holder and a belt clip and lets you listen to XM Radio on the go. The kitten does...

I am not an engineer, so sorry in advance for my ignorance. Can one connect an iPod directly to the car audio speakers, bypassing the, head unit, through an amplifier? I was thinking to measure the output voltage of the iPod at the max volume, and get an appropriate amp which I would plug into the 9V jack. I don't like ipod radio transmitters (poor quality...
