(Trying to record a music band outdoors) Please give me some advice- I'm thinking of digitally recording an outdoor musical performance in late June 2008, and I am worried that some microphones are subject to failure, or at least an unusual performance of some kind, if the microphones - or the wire hookups - sit around baking in the sun. If the weather...

Perhaps some of you experienced guys can give me some ideas as to why I am not satisfied with my updated HU and front/rear speakers in my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. My HU is the Alpine 9857. This radio is rated at 18 watts per channel, but many folks consider that a very conservative rating on this particular HU. I am not yet running an amp, although...

Hey all, I have found a good site for wireless video stuff. www.creativewirelessav.com I placed an order and it arrived in 3 days... Turns out the stuff they sell is very powerful and can send audio and video very far, even through walls and floors. They have the cheapest prices out there.... Definitely worth a look ! Varispeed

I just bought a NAKAMICHI CR-7A cassette recorder and it seems to have problems. 1) When I power it up there no lights on the VU screen panel. 2) When I put a tape in & press PLAY or FF there is some minor movement but then nothing. 3) When I turn the OUTPUT volumn to Maximum I get buzzing. When I turn it halfway I get motorboating. Any help is appreciated. Terry...

Hi, does anyone know where you can get Chipquick stuff in the UK? http://www.chipquikinc.com/ I noticed CPC listed on the US website but UK CPC doesn't seem to have it. Any alternatives? What is this stuff anyway? Cheers, Gareth.

Anybody remember this relic, ca. 1985? I found it on the curb the other day and picked it up before it rained. 'Picked it up' was a lot more difficult than I expected. This thing weighs more than some receivers.... Saying it's built like a tank is an understatement. The main chassis is *cast* aluminum! The analog ps is pretty massive, with five...

Good News! This headphone amplifier has been REPAIRED and is now working perfectly. Here's what happened: I have been taking parallel measurements between the "good" and "bad" channels since the beginning. I took voltage measurements, resistance measurements, tested ALL capacitors, and tested ALL transistors. But someone in my original thread...

In the interest of clarification, I have added some information to the schematic of the tape deck headphone amp that I'm having problems with. Some circuit paths are now labeled: http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff58/eadgbe123/amplifier-1.jpg As always, the points at which voltage readings are marked with a star are NOT producing the voltage indicated....

Any thoughts on the best file for archiving music??? -- "Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Can someone recommend a source for a replacement power switch? It is a toggle type snap switch for an Optonica SM-1515B stereo amp. Hole spacing is 1-3/8 inch. 120V. Picture: http://home.everestkc.net/upperquad/Switch/SnapSwitch002.jpg Thank you. John C.

I'm interested in mugging up on loudspeaker driver design theory, especially with regard to the motor. Does anyone have any decent suggestions for sources of info ? Graham
