I have an old Aiwa ADF-990 which hasn't gotten used much in the past decade or so, and the belts fell apart. I was able to find the part numbers (81-507-216-01 and 81-507-225-01) but I found that they are no longer made. I eventually found a recommendation for where to get replacements, but with no mention of which were the correct equivalent belts. I...

I find myself in need of a superior headphone spatial experience. The best thing I can imagine would be an outboard surround processor that accepts multiple types of inputs, both digital and analog, with an HRTF that can be programmed the way Sennheiser did it with their Dolby headphone processor. There are some HT style surround phones, but I think...

I purchased a Yamaha CDX-710 CD player at a yard sale. It has new belts and plays and sounds great, BUT...sometimes a disc will skip badly. Since all of my discs are in mint condition, I knew it had to be the player. I opened the player up and discovered something. Take a look at this photo: * i240.photobucket . com /albums/ff58/eadgbe123/yamaha.jpg If...

I have Epos els 3's with NAD 7155. Epos are great speakers, however not the best with rock, lacking bass. Either I get different speakers (M5's) or a sub. My budget is limited. The room is small aprox. 12x13. I'm inclined to go with a modest priced small sub. Thoughts or suggestions? Thank you.

Looking for a schematic and adjustments for Tim DeParavicini (EAR) designed Power amp. This early model is distinguished by having an LF356 op amp as the input from the Alps vol. control. (There is no board at the Alps on this earlier version.) The later version was a DuoBeta version with the same model number, but while the concepts of the safety...

Would anyone have pointers to the schematics of a good-souding parametric equaliser that doesn't require hard to find components, like reverse-log pots ? -- André Majorel <URL: * w w w .teaser . fr /~amajorel/> "Cette supposition rappelle assez celle de ce prédicateur qui, en pleine chaire, faisait remarquer à ses fidèles la bonté de Dieu qui avait placé...

Can someone provide a brief overview of the frequency response characteristics of a good quality audio cassette tape compared with a recordable CD? I am interested in recording ambient nature sounds and would like to capture as much realism as possible. Thank you, David King

My search engine skills must suck. I've been looking without any success for the schematics of a DI box. The goal is to plug an electric guitar or bass into a line input. The specs would be : - one high impedance input (couple megohms), - one unbalanced line output, - unity gain, - +/-15 V supply prefered, 9 V supply OK. - preferably only jelly bean components....
