Hi, this really is driving me nuts now. I have a EV P3000 that is intermittently going into protect. I think I have established why. Mains spikes are getting into the amp. A lot of them. I can make the amp trip every time by switching off my soldering station slowly and making its mains switch arc. This is putting over 10 volts of HF hash onto...

I wonder can anybody help. I have a Denon cd receiver with a remote control. Connected to it I have an Onkyo cassette deck. Both machines have mini jack plug sockets for remote control interconnection. Will the Denon (which has the infrared sensor) control the Onkyo? Would connecting them be likely to cause any damage? As an alternative approach,...

http :// www .mediafire, com /?9ndyv1hm4iy Are we expected to believe that in 1956 at Victoria Hall 3 Neuman Mics on the Decca Tree outside the orchestra An Ampex Deck Roy Wallace's mixer created sound that is so skewed and unnatural. Have you ever heard strings or trumpets that sounded like that? Or a hall that sounded like this. The first release...

I have neither the budget nor the inclination to hang a hard-drive from my belt. Besides, I was born inherently clumsy and tend to bump into things and drop stuff a lot. An I-Pod would not last more than 1-2 weeks around me. I've bumped and dropped plenty a flash/thumb-drive stick, and they've never failed me. That said, I'd appreciated your recommendations...

May be OT but I need an HQ pot meter for volume and a source selector switch for my home build pre amplifier. For the selector switch, the more selections the better! Can anyone point me in a good direction? Thanks Edmund

Does anybody know anything about this 12 inch loudspeaker? It is in my guitar amplifier. What is it worth, and is it any good? 8 ohms Thanks

Recently purchased a used NAD AV-716 receiver (I know I took a risk buying a 90s receiver and having it shipped, but am prepared to pay for repairs). Sometimes one channel or the other of the mains cuts out (the headphones don't), but when the volume is turned up it comes back on. I checked the speaker connections and they're OK. Something going south?

I want to use my Nokia phone (S40 platform) as a remote control for a PC based (Linux/Amarok?) MP3 player. Has anybody done this before? Can point me at any resources? Peter

I am looking for a hands-free, speaker phone/mic to use with a cell phone. I do not want to use blue-tooth. My cellular device has the standard 2.5mm, 3 conductor jack. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, -AA

This is driving me nuts. All I want to know is if the Switchcraft 112APCX mono jack socket is a switched type or not. Switchcraft have apparently never heard of it (well their website search hasn't) yet it is stocked globally, but I can't find any technical datasheets. Anyone just know? Scott, you're the switchcraft man aren't you? Cheers, Gareth....

Hi all I've searched the web a bit and I understood that if I wire the speakers in series the resulting impedance is simply the sum of all the impedances of each speaker. What isn't clear to me however is the actual result that you hear with this configuration. Suppose I have a 100W stereo amplifier, with 4 Ohm on each channel, and that I want to...

Accuphase USA has finally concluded that the electroluminescent back light for the Accuphase logo in the DP90 is not dependable. I could have told them that after I'd replaced my third light about three years ago. They charge $45 for these lamps and when you add labor and shipping for the DP90, it costs well over $120. If it fails in three months, as...

How much crosstalk would you expect to get sending left and right line levels down a balanced cable, as opposed to 2 separate ones? I've always thought pretty negligible, but just wanted clarification or other un obvious issues. In this particular instance it is a ground loop isolator between laptop and mixer, total cable length 2 metres or less,...
