Hi, Vacuumlanders, Here's something from the "thrilling days of yesteryear". * w w w .audiodesignline . com /showArticle.jhtml?articleID 7800117 I found it in the latest audiodesignline newsletter (which is now all "solid state and software".) To think the NOS ones still sell for a few dollars each! Cheers, Roger

I've been toying with the idea of building a tube phono preamp and using DC heaters but, as you all probably noticed from my last few projects, I want to power the thing with a wallwart. That presented the regulator drop out problem so I whipped up a '0V dropout' regulator. Thought I remembered seeing others discuss that same issue (like converting an...

I'm looking for one of the following output transformers for an amplifier project: 1) Eico part number 32004 (used on Eico models HF-20, HF-35). 2) Peerless part number 16458 (used on Heathkit W-5M). I already have one each of these, but need a mate to one of them in order to end up with two identical channels. Although I do have a definite preference...

Probably the easiest thing is to have them shot with basecoat/clearcoat automotive finishes by a local collision repair body shop. Often you can "piggyback" them on to another job for a few dollars if they aren't too busy. These materials are quite expensive but if they are already set up and have a gun cup mixed it's pure extra revenue for them. Anodizing...

I've built an out board power supply that (to me) looks kinda nifty, so I'd like to use handsome and modern connectors. Eons ago I was familiar with old and large but reliable Cinch Jones types of plugs and receptacles. But what is a better and craftier type plug, harness, and receptacle for today's audio equipment? The connections are: 12.6, 6.3, +/-5 &15,...

Hi RATs, I put up a page for a new amp I built. * w w w .timebanditaudio . com /Harald%20van%20Haaren%20Amp/vanHaaren300B.html If the link doesn't work go to my main page at * w w w .timebanditaudio . com /timebandit.html and go to the bottom of the page. This one sounds really nice. Zero audible hum. Best regards, Raymond

Discussion about the headphone interface on the 6AW8 PC Speaker amp got me to thinking so I whipped up a little OTL circuit, just for headphones, using the 6CY7 (essentially a 'half power' 6EM7).. Why? Well, when researching the series resistor thing I noticed a lot of the so called 'tube' headphone amps have solid state outputs and a lot of the all tube...
