I just got a new soldering iron today a Weller WES51 50 watt soldering station. I went to try some desoldering on my Scott tube amp and found at the highest setting I had difficulty melting the solder joints. What kind of soldering iron and wattage do I need to easily work on my amp? Thanks, Chris

Hi all I wonder how it will be in case I build an guitar amp with 100% tube preamp and SOLIS STATE power amp . Will it sound "solid state" or it will sound somewhere in between SS and tubes or maybe just like tube amp ? Thanks in advance EC

Hi RATs, I'm looking for a couple of nine pin "octal" sockets for some input transformers I have. They look like a regular octal socket with a key in the center, but they have nine evenly spaced pins instead of eight. TIA, Raymond
