I bought some dedicated biker boots that come well up my calf, but I need some socks that go that high. They also need to accept a 18" calf (lots of sports when I was younger). Ideally, the socks will work well with the boots and wick away moisture. Any ideas where I can get some? -- . -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http:/...

I use my bike to commute and am sick of dumping my briefcase out into my bike bag all the time. I also now have an IBM Thinkpad laptop which I want to bring to/from work. I was thinking of buying an aluminum briefcase (current one is leather) and strapping it down with bungee cords to my luggage rack. Should this provide adequate protection to the laptop...

Wooo Hooo! My Garmin 2730 arrived in the mail today. If first impressions mean anything, I am gonna like playing with this new toy. Version 8 maps, touch screen, 800mg for mp3 storage and an XM radio to boot. And it seems to have a much faster processor than my Streetpilot III. Now if the snow would stop, I'd mount it on the Venture and go for a ride. ...

Hoping that someone can offer advice on this. I have a early 80 Honda 900F and I'm trying to find the MFR of the electrical connectors to see if I can get a pin extraction tool. I know that I can use a small screwdriver is most cases, but I prefer using the proper extractors if still available. Anyone happen to know who made the connectors of this...

OK, I haven't had a close one since the first couple of months I started back riding... got too much to lose :)- But this morning, it could have been the real thing if I wasn't more alert. Riding to work - divided hiway; 2 lanes either side; I'm in the left lane in a 25mph zone with traffic all around me, This guy in a dark blue late model Ford with...

Hello all, I'm looking to add a top case with a passenger backrest to my VFR. The most obvious choice is Givi: they are well known, there's a dealer nearby, and the installation looks to be rather easy. The one thing that concerns me is that the top case is rated for 3kg (8lbs) and 120 km/h (about 75 mph). Both figures seem incredibly low. That top...

Not very well composed nor processed but then again, it wasn't at a petting zoo... It's a juvenile bald eagle playing with a coyote... Immediately upon rolling to a stop and clicking this shot the coyote took off for the willows. * imagesdesavions . com /temp/001.jpg Taken about 5˝ hours prior to the previous pic... Got an email from Victory MC's asking if I wanted to test ride a Victory at my local dealer. I scheduled it for the Sat after this coming Sat. Contrast that to local dealers in my area for Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki... all you get to do is test-sit on a MC in the showroom. And they'll never personally invite you to even do that, but if Victory can...

Got a question about the Suzuki DL1000.   Would a power commander be able to remap the injectors to smoothly burn alcohol or blends of alcohol?  Anyone tried this?

As it stands now we have about twelve riders joining us for a few days of great riding, good food and I am sure many tall tales, in Moab Utah. JUNE 19th, 20th & 21st We have three group cabins booked at Pack Creek Ranch, and still have room for maybe up to five or six more people to join us. In order to avoid any cancellation penalties I will have...
