I haven't seen any comments in this group about Leon Haslam's disqualification from the 2nd BSB race at Oulton Park. James Haydon on the Channel 4 coverage was of the opinion that it was a mistake by Leon, but not one that he'd like to see penalised (this was before Leon was disqualified). I tend to agree with him, even though Leon seems to have been a...

http://www.worldsbk.com/cmsallegati/news/2271/b__Haga_Neukirchner.jpg The gap recorded between Haga and Neukirchner in race 2 at Monza was only 0.009s, the third smallest ever in World Superbike, and equalling Assen 2007, when the same value was recorded between Bayliss and second-placed Toseland. The absolute record for World Superbikes is 0.005s...

It was nice having Randy Mamola doing the announcing on the WSB races last weekend. He did a good job. But who is the American rider they talked about... Michael Beck? I don't have any recollection of his name in any AMA races. He started last on the grid but actually scored a point in race 2. Not bad for a so-called AMA transplant that I've never...

I realize that riders need to get in some practice anonymously, but city park authorities have really stretched the reg's to allow Dani Pedrosa to work on his moves http://www.oldstox.com/images/biker.jpg

I was just reading the silliness that "And away we go" thread degenerated into and something occurred to me. Around 2003, I was cornerworking at Laguna and one of my fellow workers told me over lunch that he had some "inside info" that a second series of motorcycle road racing was on the drawing board, one that would emulate NASCAR and would primarily be...

A couple of comments were printed in MCN last week from Neil Hodgson and Chas Davies with regard to all the changes being discussed wrt racing in the USA from next year. Both of them think that they personally won't be very interested in racing 130bhp 600s, and also that few other non-US riders are likely to look on racing in the US as a 'destination series'...

MotoGP may or may not come down to Vale vs. Dani, but we all know the AMA Superbike championship will certainly come down to Mat vs. Ben, and that's what it is so far. Setting all the NASBike talk aside for a moment, I think the actual racing on the track deserves a closer look. We all know Mladin came out hard at the start and won the first three races,...

A break from the GP and AMA action this weekend, so a good time to size up how the year has started. [Yeah, I know, WSB is running this weekend - or is that hobbling along on their walkers?] The MotoGP championship fight has already been fully established, and it's the four guys who have won the four races so far, and taken all of the podium places - Rossi,...

Yes it is a tiny sportbike but still qualifies. It seems this 2008 model is not sold in the US I'm near Vancouver. Canada. Can get new ones under warranty and ship if you really want one. I can buy them from a legitimate Honda dealership. Reply here. I see you can modify it to 50cc with Honda original parts too....... to double the power. 13.5 to 26...

How would you guys rate that qualifying session? I'm personally amazed that a guy they basically taped to the footpegs could do what he did. That almost highside was an amazing display of physics! -- Andrew 00 Daytona 00 Speed Triple 71 Kawi H1 05 Kiddo

Warning: this report is probably from some guy you never heard of, running a crap endurance class, on a dog-slow bike (to coin a phrase). And oh, yeah, the pace car *DID* come out for four laps. Enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------- 04.26.08 Howdy from the pits at Virginia International Raceway, where the Screamin'...

I'm not going to name names. With fabulous heat hitting in to the 90's, and 30+ mph gusty winds menacing the track both Saturday and Sunday, as well as causing a few delays, I think I can safely say that this was one of the best AMA weekends we've had, anywhere, in a very long time. The quick run down: SB1 on Saturday was fairly typical, with a...

> http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article2147 The first concrete change has happened, and we didn't even have to wait until next year. So what's going on there? The AMA website didn't have the Elkhart schedule up yet, but last year's may be instructive. Saturday afternoon consisted of SStock qualifying, SSport qualifying, SB race 1 and...
