With the Good Ship AMA Proracing having sunk completely out of sight, CN's HR Abrams is looking around for a new target (showing that at least some people, no matter how fixated and obsessed, can move on), and it seems he may be turning his guns on the new NASBike bosses, the DMG. In the new CN he editorializes on a few aspects of this change, and here...

Held in Lesterville, MO on May 17th-18th (Armed Forces Weekend), SEMO combines dirt drags and other field events (tire drag, slow race, etc.) with riding, camping, vendors, wet t-shirt contests, live music and more in one of Missouri's oldest and best biker rallys. This is a tried and true rally put on by bikers for bikers, not a spit and polish bike show,...

It seems the assumption is that the new owners will dumb down Superbikes, and even moreso than what the AMA’s proposed 2009 rules would have done. It’s also assumed that in addition to making the bikes cheaper it will make the racing closer, not only between the OEMs but also between the factories and the privateers. The goal being at least giving the better...

After reading the CN interview with Roger Edmondson (more than once) , I thought I'd help folks wade through all the words and get to the essence of exactly how Rog pictures the bikes that he'll feature going forward. Q: Will the premier class be 1000s or 600s? Rog: It could be 600s... It's too early for me to lay out a vision for what Superbike racing...

A fairly candid interview with Edmondson in this weeks online version of CN, check it out if you have the chance and while overall it might raise a few questions, he certainly addressed a few critical one's. Such as, he likes a lot in the WSB rule book and thinks it might be "arrogant" for us to be a lot different, or telling Ray Blank (US Honda head...

What is your opinion about moto road racing such as Isle of Man TT or 300 curves of Gustav Havel (http://www.300zatacek.cz) ? Are there any similar popular and famous road races in US or somewhere else (except Ireland/Northern Ireland where the road racing's pretty popular, as far as I know). Btw. here are some onboard videos: http://www.300zatacek.cz/2008/02/video-z-biku-kamila-holane.html or...

From http://www.amadirectlink.com/news/2008/transcript.asp "I think that it’s important that we find a way to move to true professionalism here. I’ll give you an example. I don’t think that one rider, one bike, a guy getting in a van and going somewhere to race for prize money is professional racing. In other words, the old division used to be, if...

http://superbikeplanet.com/2008/Mar/080314g5.htm There's been rumors about SX being for sale since before the season started, could this be the proof, or did they bring Janson onboard to help run the "new" SB series, or both? Whatever the reason, I can't imagine the senior VP at Live Nation coming cheap...

the OEMs seem to be very much in favour of traction control in motogp. the point being that street-going motorcycles have and will continue to benefit from TC that's developed in the top class. fine, i'll concede that as being a valid argument in support of TC. still, in the name of sport, and trying to put more control back in the racer's hands (literally)...

alot of talk is about how the 800s favour the lilliputian guys. so i stopped for a second to consider how different the 800s are to the 500s. they seem to put out about the same power. not sure about weights, but i'll assume the 800s are slightly heavier. physically & aerodynamically, they seem to put out about the same size. there's no reason the...
