- The teams agree to supersports level engine tune in SBK which means stock conrods and pistons - Ducati asks for kit rods and pistons to be competitive, the other teams refuse - The Ducatis are down on top end and equal on acceleration while the Suzuki is the fastest bike out there. The lead Ducati is being ridden well with no screwups and that as...

..in France and in Sonoma valley this weekend. Searing heat steadily cooling off some at Sears ("Infineon"), while some of the usual dodgy stuff at Le Mans. In France it was again the all-conquering Yamahas, this time filling the podium. Rossi won easily, Lorenzo came from far back to take second, and Edwards at least got a podium for his efforts for a...

Just wanted to vent. I didn't think it was possible for the MotoGP website to get any worse, but with their revamped site they've managed it. On Friday I tried to see the results of the practice sessions. There seemed to be no way to get the results for the first MotoGP free practise session. Both the web site and the link to the PDF results only had the...

I haven't seen any comments in this group about Leon Haslam's disqualification from the 2nd BSB race at Oulton Park. James Haydon on the Channel 4 coverage was of the opinion that it was a mistake by Leon, but not one that he'd like to see penalised (this was before Leon was disqualified). I tend to agree with him, even though Leon seems to have been a...

* w w w .worldsbk . com /cmsallegati/news/2271/b__Haga_Neukirchner.jpg The gap recorded between Haga and Neukirchner in race 2 at Monza was only 0.009s, the third smallest ever in World Superbike, and equalling Assen 2007, when the same value was recorded between Bayliss and second-placed Toseland. The absolute record for World Superbikes is 0.005s...

It was nice having Randy Mamola doing the announcing on the WSB races last weekend. He did a good job. But who is the American rider they talked about... Michael Beck? I don't have any recollection of his name in any AMA races. He started last on the grid but actually scored a point in race 2. Not bad for a so-called AMA transplant that I've never...

I realize that riders need to get in some practice anonymously, but city park authorities have really stretched the reg's to allow Dani Pedrosa to work on his moves * w w w .oldstox . com /images/biker.jpg

I was just reading the silliness that "And away we go" thread degenerated into and something occurred to me. Around 2003, I was cornerworking at Laguna and one of my fellow workers told me over lunch that he had some "inside info" that a second series of motorcycle road racing was on the drawing board, one that would emulate NASCAR and would primarily be...

A couple of comments were printed in MCN last week from Neil Hodgson and Chas Davies with regard to all the changes being discussed wrt racing in the USA from next year. Both of them think that they personally won't be very interested in racing 130bhp 600s, and also that few other non-US riders are likely to look on racing in the US as a 'destination series'...
