So the literbike rules - or whatever they'll call it (betting is on Ft. Lauderdale Uberbike) - are in, and it's the same old dsb shit. 185hp cap, no special parts, prespecified models, etc., etc. No $55k homologation special Ducati - HP cap makes that unnecessary - but they list the BMW that doesn't even exist yet. There is a purse, and no participation...

corporate is dragging their feet to get him a 3rd bike. which, by the looks of things, wont be a front-runner anyways. pfffft. random thought: i wonder if spies' riding style will changeover quickly to the current state of 800cc machines and rider aids.

There is some urban motorsports going on... Of course there is simple car drag racing that simply tests acceleration of two cars side-by-side with end of run speeds likely under 80 mph And sport bikes (motorcycles that could be raced with just a few modifications) are going hard acceleration and very high speed on city interstate highways. Often the...

Did Eurosport not show the 125cc and 250cc races from Le Mans? Seems none of the torrent sites have it. Only BBCi version, which is the same as Speed.

In response to Tim Morrow's post... Here's some pics. Yeah, they are mostly of Buells, since many of my friends race Buells(I live 20 miles from the Buell factory). And 3 more of my friends tested for the CCS race license that weekend(learning curves). I drop in once in a while; after all, I *am* interested in racing. I've been club racing since 1988 and attending races since 1986. I LOVE motorcycle racing, I LOVE track days, I LOVE teaching new track riders how to ride, I *LOVE* the look in the eyes of newly licensed novice roadracers lining up for their first grid.... I love racing at Daytona, on...

In the latest Motorcycle Racer, there's a column from Norm De Witt. I think this was written just after Daytona and before any of the details came out. He's generally hopeful and was talking as though Superbike would remain the top class. He quotes a Dunlop guy saying that there was really no reason why the Daytona 200 shouldn't be SBK. They introduced...

* w w w .superbikeplanet . com /2008/May/080522sr.htm Down at the very end: Q I don't know if you want to talk about what he said [on the podium], at all? A I heard what he said. Q What do you think? He said he's not going to ride Daytona Superbikes next year. What are your thoughts on next year? A Well, I don't know, but I haven't heard anything...

I can't figure why Sofuoglu was shuffled off into WSB, whenTen Kate have Checa and Kyonari making the running there. Rea and Pitt are doing not badly in WSS, so I don't see where Kenan fits in the plans. Wouldn't he be more useful helping to bag more WSS titles?

* superbikeplanet . com /2008/May/080521i.htm Let's review; Daytona International Speedway-Ground zero for DMG, fat chance here.. Barber Motorsports Park-A possibility, but they're spending bucks on a MX track, which IIRC is now owned by DMG.. Infineon Raceway-Nascar Miller Motorsports Course-Grand AM, Nascar and a MX hopeful.. Road America-Another...

It seems nobody knows what to do about 250GP. The latest offering is 640cc stock fours with a 16k rev limit in prototype chassis. So slower than WSS600 then. And of course Aprilia and KTM don't have an engine so will pull out. - It can't be 2 stroke - It's supposed to be cheap(er) - It can't be anything like WSS600 hence the stock engines, weird cc...

Whatever is broken about the American race program, I don't think Roger can fix it. We had a decent turnout in Fontana couple weeks ago, and, frankly, some of the best racing I've ever seen -- in all of the classes. SB Race 1 was standard fare but had some great mid pack fights. The other 4 races were simply barn burners on every level. At Sears,...

* w w w .superbikeplanet . com /2008/May/080520x9.htm Really not much at all in terms of details, other than more confirmation that they're following their playbook - daytona SB as the premier class, some sort of literbike, cheaper bikes, fewer classes, shorter weekends, occasionally including Moto-ShiT, spec parts, etc., etc. What seems to emerge...
