What do you guys think of Putoline Oil? Anybody on this list using it? Thinking of switching from Elf to Putoline which is much cheaper here. Davy Singapore

So here is the run down i bought a 1973 honda cl350 when i bought it the mufflers had a million holes in them. So i cut the mufflers of and placed on some shorty mufflers on each separate pipe. The airbox was filthy so i took them of and placed k and n separate cone filters on the carbs. Here is the complaint when im riding the bike and the motor hits...

I have a 1981 Goldwing that is missing the knobs on it I was wondering if anyone would have some knobs that they would sell trade or give away. On this link you can see what king of knobs I am talking about. http :// cgi.ebay, com /ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140127097811&rd=1,1 Thanks, Dusty

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about a gas leak from my '83 Suzuki GS450L. At the time I thought it was the carbs. Thanks for all the responses. However, today I started taking it apart to get to the carbs and discovered the leak was coming out of a hose attached to the fuel tank sending unit (gas gauge). I tried bikebandit and found nothing, nothing...

Hi I picked up a 1983 Yamaha XT200 for my wife to ride. It is in fair shape with 2300 miles on it. After cleaning up the fuel system I got it to start and idle, however giving it any throttle causes it to start backfiring in the exaust. Any ideas about ignition or valve timing are appreciated. So what is the differences among coolants EngineIce, Maxima, Honda's non-silicate coolant, Pepboy's Proline coolant for aluminum engine, Prestone automobile coolant (for aluminum engine)? I agree with all the comments.

Can any one tell me differences in motorcycle coolants, comparing Mutool, Engine Ice, Maxima, Honda's non-silicate corrosion inhibitor coolant, Prepboy's Proline coolant for aluminum engine, ordinary Prestone 5 yr automobile coolant, recycled coolant? I have a Tank-sports Motorcycle 250 cc Touring scooter (Chinese scooter). I feel it is very low quality...

its an 1984 honda cm450e. it has VB22 carbs (CV) I'm having hesitation/stuttering at about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. the carbs have been professionally cleaned and synced. the slides move easily in the bore. once past this "stuttering" it runs fine. i just had the carbs apart again to doublecheck and couldn't find any dirt in the jets. these aren't the...

After a recent bout of twin-bashing on rec.motorcycles, I dragged out my old XS650 parallel twin last night and took it for a ride. The ride was good, I enjoyed the sound from those skinny chrome mufflers even if the 650 corners like a pig compared to the sportbike I usually ride. Could do without the enormous vibration too, particularly in the footpegs. When...

This may seem like an elementary question to ask here, but I need a stock OEM air filter element for a 1995 Suzuki LS650 Savage. None of the Suzuki dealers anywhere near here even carry these in stock (really!), and none of them are especially convenient to here anyway. so I figured if they need to order it I may as well order one myself and have it...

I have a 1995 Suzuki Savage 650, single cylinder. It has a 3-position fuel switch: ON (which automatically becomes OFF when the engine is shut off), PRI ("Prime", which bypasses the automatic OFF), and REServe. I had it parked in the garage all winter with the switch in what I thought was the ON (/OFF) position but it turns out it was in the PRI position... that's...
