I was in a Pep Boys (united states) the other day and on display there was a pit bike with what looked identical in my memory to the honda 90cc engine that at the time was in a honda s90. I'm unfamiliar with who makes the chinese version but obviously it' a clone of the honda 90. Dunno if it's a record insofar as the same design has been going on since...

Hi, Guys, While doing some research on the STX1300 with the local mechanics, I've learnt that there are many incidences of STX1300 with all kinds of electronics related problem. One is the blinking of the FI warning light at around 8-90 mph. Others include symptoms that looks like a 'hang' of the onboard system, which required a reset by disconnection and...

Recently asquired this Ascot with 11.6K miles. Don't know anything about the Ascot other than it had a short window of manufacture (83-84). Looking for some restoration help mechanically. Is there a group for the Ascot or will this forum work?

I just picked up a nice '74 GT380. I have set the point gap and ignition timing turning the crankshaft counterclockwise as it rotates when kicked over with kickstarter arm. This rotation viewed from the righthand side of the bike looking directly at the timing plate. Now the original owners manual booklet says to turn the point breaker cam nut clockwise...

Hi, Was wondering if anyone can help. I was riding my Honda CB125T when it suddenly just stalled. When i restarted it there apears to be a clicking noise coming from the engine block and i can't get the bike to accelerate to high revs. Any ideas?

New bike that is not under warranty anymore is giving me some annoying issues. The Ninja forum is starting to ignore my posts because they don't know what is wrong. I did a 500 mile post-break-in maintenance on it and adjusted the valves. I checked the clearances three times before putting the covers back on and everything was correct as it should be. My...

Anyone here want to start a new group just for scooters? We seem to have a slightly different agenda that's not necessarily part of the regular 2-wheel motorcycle world. I especially need help on the Kymco line. There's lots of info on BMW, Triumph, Harley, etc., but none for scooters that I can find.

I have a 1989 Gold Wing GL-1500 with 82,000 miles on it, and a 1995 Suzuki Savage 650 with around 7500 miles. I get around 37 MPG with the Wing and 43 MPG with the Savage. The Wing is mostly highway miles, often two-up, with regular gas, and the Savage is mostly city / suburban miles, usually by myself, usually with mid-grade or premium gas (it runs...

I have a 75 Suzuki GT380 that one fine morning would not start off the kick or when I tried to run-start it. Instead when I popped the clutch, the engine just hummed to a slow stop and never caught. The points were replaced with a Boyer Bransen electronic ignition. I took the cap off and could spin the ingition disc which did create a nice pop out of...

Well, just to confess to my ineptitude, it wasn't the gas level sender drain hose that was leaking. The carbs are dumping gas back into the air box and it has a similar drain hose - I got the two confused. But that's not why I'm posting. I called two different Suzuki places and got the same response from both - "We don't work on bikes over 10 years...

Chain was loose, so tried to tighten it, put new adjusting bolts in .While moving tire the chain seems to not ride in sprocket in one area kind of binds a bit, is this caused by a miss adjustment on one side? Looks like wheel is turning perfect when turning on center stand? Thanks for any help. Terry

Anybody on this list using Putoline Oil for their bikes? What do you think of it? Thinking of switching from Elf to Putoline for my Super 4 as it's much cheaper here. David Singapore
