Hi! I tested some battery chargers last night , and found "as usual" that the amps and voltages stated on the modules were not the same as what I found on the Volt and Amp testers.... Some 12v charging modules, would say 1.5 amp, whereas the voltage test was 12-->17v and/or 4-->6amps on the meters.... All the "Walwart" max output 800ma (.8A) with...

I've got a '07 Triumph America and looking for a set of bags for it. I'm a bit particular about what I want but not even sure if they're made, so I'm asking for help here. Looking for a simple black leather-like set of classic looking bags (no studs or fringe) that's about as water-proof as possible. If the bag lid seals, that's even better. My father...

I have a 77 KZ650 that I took the carbs off and cleaned, put in a carb kit, got new starter plungers and O rings. I had an O ring in the carb kit that I thought was for the starter plunger cap, (it goes between the cap and the carb body) but it was slightly too big. The O rings I got with the starter plungers were the same, slightly too big. The old...

Hey all. A round for the house.... I am currently a student at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. I have about 6 months left so I am starting to plan my tool purchase. I guess by now you all know where I am going with this but I just thought I would come to the source. As an MMI student I get about a 50% discount on Snap-On tools. That sounds great but...

Hi all, back again with another sport bike - this being a classic, a 83 Kawi GPz305, belt drive - the forerunner to the Ninja and all the fast toys today, and a treat to ride. Well, at least it should be if I can get it going again. Got this little guy recently, it had been parked outside and neglected by the owner. Great fixer upper and already looking...

"its an 1984 honda cm450e. it has VB22 carbs (CV) I'm having hesitation/stuttering at about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. the carbs have been professionally cleaned and synced. the slides move easily in the bore. once past this "stuttering" it runs fine. i just had the carbs apart again to doublecheck and couldn't find any dirt in the jets. these aren't the...

So as a followup to this same thread last year ( * tinyurl . com / 3afnzq), I hit it again this spring. I soon realized my carb holders had massive vacuum leaks and at least one float bowl was overflowing raw gasoline into my air filter. Two new intake gaskets and two new needles and seats later, it appears to be running correctly. At first I was befuddled...

Well, I lost one of the battery bolts over the winter. Does it make any difference what type of bolt I use to replace it? Does it matter if it is different than the original material? Perhaps a stupid question but I always that questions not asked are even more so. Thanks.

Hello, I have a couple of 99 KZ1000P cop bikes that until this winter I was scrupulous about maintaining. In one of them, I left no gas that had not been fuel stabilized. It started right up last night but wont idle. question... Can I fix this chemically? There is NOTHIGN I hate more than taking the carbs off these things. Will carb cleaner screw...
