I upgraded the SD card from 1 gb to 2 gb. They are both SD, but the original one says "Filemate", whiile the new one says (in red) "Scandisk". Well, then new card DOES NOT WORK. THe camera says the card needs to be formatted...but when you attempt to format, you get a "file sys error" code #, and it shows a frozen hour glass. Has a red flashing light...

I am looking for an inexpensive small camcorder with still capabilities. I first thought about The Flip (http://www.theflip.com/), but I question its worth. Then I found one that sounds really nice and I would like others opinions on it. It is here: http://tinyurl.com/3cs49q I want something around $300 or so, something that will record in sound and stuff...

According to Canon's site, the wireless functionality of Canon Ixus Wireless is not yet available for MS Windows Vista. But I can't find any information about when it will be. The question is: Is Canon ever going to release Vista-compatible software for my camera? Or am I vasting time waiting for it...

Hi, Im in the lookout for a new digital camera. I have a Fuji Finepix A204 at the moment. Althought it's only 2 Megapixel, I really am quite happy with the results I've been getting with it and really like the colour balance and sharpness I can usually (8 times out of 10) get. It's frankly on its last legs, and Im looking to buy a new camera. Obviously,...

I wonder if there are experiences and opinions that might indicate the best small camera for outdoor use? The first criterion, IMHO, is that the monitor screen should be adequately visible in bright ambient light. This has become important as small cameras tend to be made without an optical viewfinder. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else out there has a Canon S3 IS and has good results with a set of settings when shooting indoor rock concerts. Any advice would be very welcome. Thank you

Hi, I am sure this is probably a serious problem that would cost a lot to fix but hear goes any way. The camera was working fine a week ago. I powered it up yesterday and the images through the lens are stretched vertically and image is very pink. There were also waves moving through the image. It is not the viewer because I can look at older pictures...

I am new with digital photography, just got a Kodak C530 5mp digital camera. I am just shooting in auto mode. Took portraits ouside on a sunny day in the shade. When I took full body shots, the exposures were fine. When I got up close--- just chest-level and above, the faces were totally washed out/white. My son was also wearing a very light blue shirt,...

1) Lens that goes at least as wide as 28mm equivalent (for 35mm). 2) Optical viewfinder. 3) Images sharp out to the corners. Obviously any digital SLR can meet these requirements with an appropriate lens, but I'd like something more compact. So far the closest I've found has been the Canon SD800, but it fails (3). Any suggestions?

A friend of mine needs to know which PS camera takes the first shoot most rapidly. And because the person who asks is a woman so I think that the camera should not be very heavy. -- Juha Heinonen Seilimaki 17 B 8 02180 ESPOO FINLAND E-mail: juha.heinonen@pp2REMOVE.inet.fi URL: http://personal.inet.fi/koti/juha.heinonen

Hello to all fellow photo NG contributors, Everyone has something to say about this tragedy, but eventually, words begin to all run together until they lose some of their meaning. Sometimes a photo can express a thought or sentiment far more clearly, so this is my initial contribution, and I hope you'll share yours (read below): Direct Gallery Link...

I picked up one of these new Nikon P & S cameras about three weeks ago. Purchased online for $239.00/US. Although I've only snapped about 300 shots so far, I have a good opinion of it, but have many more photos to shoot in testing all of it's features. This is the 7.1 MegaPixel model that has the optical VR (Vibration Reduction) and shoots up to ISO...
