SLR film cameras have a shooting button that can take a shutter release cable. I haven't seen this on a digital camera. For production work like catalogs or yearbooks, you'll want to command the camera to take a picture and send it back to the computer immediately. This would be the digital equivalent of the cable. Very handy for repetitive shooting. Has...

Does anyone know how to set (or even read what the camera sets) the ISO on the Nikon Coolpix L14? The instruction manual is mute on this issue. -- Michael

Hi, I'm using a Olympus C-7000 digital camera. I like the camera's 5 x optical zoom, photos, fit/feel but it's getting dated. I'm looking for a replacement for the C-7000, ie pocket camera, great pictures and image stabilization. I recently learned there's several different types of image stabilization. Which system is best? I checked out the...

Anyone familiar with these two cameras which cost about the same and have similar features. I have owned a Canon G3 and a Kodak Z740 and thought they were both OK. This one is for my daughter who will be shooting sports activities of her sons and school activities. Ease of use is an important feature. Any other suggestions for a long zoomand a $250ish...

I swear that when I first installed the software I was downloading only the new images from the camera into my PC. If I take new pix and download them, only those new ones would download. Now that's changed and all pix download again, resulting in many unwanted duplicates in the PC. I've uninstalled the software, reinstalled it, made sure the box for "new...

I understand, I think that the lower the F number the better. And it looks like the average digital camera is an f2.8. So, my question is, where does shutter speed come into play? And what is shutter lag and all that other jargon? What would I want in a digital P&S that is quick to take pictures (of kids and sports) without getting blurry pictures?...

I've a Kodak DX6340, recently noticed that some colors are not reproduced accurately. A deep blue/almost purple flower I was taking a close up of did not appear in the digital viewfinder to be the correct color, nor the finished image as displayed on my PC screen. It appears lighter than the real thing. I don't know if this is typical for this type of...

I have a Nikon CoolPix 8700 that I love. I'm trying to understand some of the bells & whistles that come with it. The manual is not very user friendly. Can someone help me figure out how to turn the flash off and take 1/2 second photos? Terry

I have a feeling this is not the best place to ask, but I don't know where is ‹ and I hope I can ask the question in a way which makes sense to you: When I view a pic on my screen (typically in Macintosh's iPhoto or in its Preview app), it will look different (the lightness/darkness, brightness) depending on the angle at which I tilt my laptop screen....
