What do people use? I've tried various combinations of: Mamiya square lens hood (the small lens 48mm o/d one) Rubber 49mm lens hood 46mm polarizers 46-49mm step up ring 49mm red or orange filters Cokin-A filters with 49mm adapter ring and 46-49 step up. 55, 80 & 135mm lenses. My conclusions from the above are that: * Mamiya lens hood...

Curious Idea popped up in my giant head... was there ever a TLR that is framed and geared for 6x4.5 centimeters on 120/220 film? I mean... the orientation of the film travel would be right, not like one of those Fuji 645's... any info? I think such a model would be great to have! -- }<)))*> Giant Alex cravdraa at-yahoo dot-com not my site: ...

What you want is a manual iris extension tube for a MF camera with focal plane shutter. Pentax 67 works, Pentacon, etc. I don't know if the ExWarpac cameras are any good, even with upgrades. You can then cut it down to the proper length and take an aluminum plate and attach it to the front via welding or epoxy. If you had a mill-drill or lathe friction...

The M645 manual recommends (in several places) that in order to avoid electrical shock: if one is using a flash connected via the hot shoe on top of the finder, then one should put a PC Sync Socket Cover on the PC sync socket; if one is using a flash connected via the PC sync socket, then one should put a Hot Shoe Cover on the hot shoe...

I arranged a private trade with someone in Europe and according to tracking, my package is now in New York and has been turned over to US Customs in New York. I wonder what experiences people have had with delays or not in getting packages due to delays with US Customs.

Among my granfather's old medium format negatives (6x9, 6x6 and 6x4.5) I found one that is bigger: the negative is 88mm wide and 114mm long; the picture area is 106x82 mm. I don't think he ever owned a camera for this format, since there is only this one picture, he must have got it from someone else. But any ideas what format this is, exactly? I would estimate...

I recently purchased a second-hand Mamiya M645, together with a boatload of equipment. However, I'm still having trouble getting it going. When I take out the old film cassette (?) that was in there, and thread up and put in another one, and close it up, the frame counter does not go back to zero (well, okay "S"). Much experimentation has shown me that...

I recently purchased a second-hand Mamiya M645, together with a boatload of equipment. The manual that came with it says "M645 J" on the cover. However, I have noted minor discrepancies here and there. One that has my attention at the moment is a rotating lever just forward of the film-advance knob (or crank) labeled "M.U." in the 9:00 position, where...

Anyone possibly know the exact separation required between the two elements of the Goerz f/4.5, 75 mm Hycon lens (copy of Biogon)? Distance between the facing glass surfaces-- and/or the surfaces of the two facing permanent barrel flanges-- would be greatly appreciated. I have deduced the distance from the patent filed for this lens design but it...

I'm amazed at the quality of b/w pictures that my mom took with her brownie camera in the 40's to 50's. The film is preserved in pristine condition. Now I want to scan all her negatives, but I'm not sure what flatbed will accept the film format. First of all can someone tell me what the format is that the Brownie's used? Can you recommend...
