I read some info about the 51 point AF system for the new Nikon D300. The dpreview showed a graphical presentation on the locations of those 51 points within the targeted digital frame (approximately covers 2/3 of the square, centered in the middle of the frame). Could someone provide a little more detail about this 51 point system?. I may be a little confused...

I have an old (1969) Elmo FP-C super8 movie projector with a fogged lens. It is the first lens in the zoom lens. I can get at it but can't unscrew it to get to the fogged side. I've tried numerous repair places and clubs here in OZ but nobody touches these things anymore. If somebody could give me a clue or suggest a more appropriate group I would appreciate...

I do not own both cameras. However, looking through lots of samples available in the web, I seems to notice that photos (mostly the ones that I observed were portraits) taken using Canon high end DSLR (1D, 1Ds,5D,10D, etc.) appear to have light or bland colors. In contrast, Nikon high end DSLR (D1, D2, D3, D200, D300, etc) appears to produce brighter, contrasting...
