I originally posted a longer version of this around March 29th, but receiving no response, will try a condensed version! Three months ago, I experienced trigeminal nerve damage while using the NuSkin Galvanic Spa. It's a battery-operated facial device that emits positive and negative charges through your skin while claiming to remove the bad stuff and...

Hi all, I am in my late 20's and have been considering getting braces for quite a while. One of the things that I am a bit concerned about is that I have a bad habit of grinding my teeth in my sleep. I currently wear an over the counter night guard that seems to do the trick. If I were to get braces, could the orthodontist design a night guard that can...

I read of some new technique that some people are using of swishing their teeth with some kind of vegetable oil every day for 15-20 minutes. They say it improves their gums. Sounds harmless enough, even if not effective. However, some also said that this technique can loosen amalgam fillings because the oil leeches the mercury out. Is it possible that...

(1)The cat literature finds there is no correlation between composition of bacteria plaque in cats and gingivitis. (2) Cats and dogs get periodontal disease at maybe 3 or 4 years of age....

I have been seeing a dentist for over a yr. and we just discovered a tooth so decayed it really is beyond a r.c. and crown. How could he not read my x-rays of a yr. ago. I looked at them and he agreed that more than one tooth had decay then. Another dentist says I need $10,000 work done soon. How could this happen. I never balked at paying my bill. I...

I am a dentistry student from the University of Manitoba, Canada. I am currently involved in a research about using dental materials to identify human corpse. The goal of the project is to construct a database of different brands of materials, which samples from crime scenes can be matched against. I am hoping to get intraoral materials from different countries...
